Niacinamide Empty Niacinamide

Post  Joejoebaggins Thu Oct 30, 2008 4:21 am

Hey IH,

Just curious why niacinamide isn't part of the regime. Seems like it has a lot of benefits besides it's pros for candida. Is it just redundant?

Joejoebaggins - I took it for a while, but like you said, it would be considered mostly redundant, but if Candida is a problem, definitely worth taking and it's one of the cheapest supplements on the planet.

There´s no doubt about mighty results in using Niacinamide BUT I´ve noticed really strong inflammation in my beginning with Niacinamide (3 days, 1st day =1 caps., 2nd day = 2 caps., 3rd day= 3 caps). I guess it´s temporary. Has Anyone noticed the same?

Niacinamide
Niacin
part of the B Vitamin family
Vaso dilator with properties similar to rogaine

do not take too much though
it IS PART of any regimen with B100 or Max Hair or Ultra Hair tabs, which I take

It is not recommended to take it separately
I would not take more than 100mcg per day,
if you do, it will flush your skin red, because it dilates the blood vessels

it will also make you extremely nauseous and have prickly skin feeling if you take too much

HanginInthere - Niacinamide is a non-flushing metabolite of niacin.

tommmash - Is it really niacinamide that you are taking or regular niacin? As HanginInthere was trying to point out, an inflammation or technically in this case a histamine effect would follow when larger doses of regular Niacin are taken, such as in amounts exceeding a few hundred milligrams for most people.

However, if it is Niacinamide, there should be no effect whatsoever. The only side effect I have ever heard of with Niacinamide is nausea in large doses and it is quite rare.

Oh I´ve got the feeling. I´m taking 1500 mg a day.
I´m going to reduce the intake on 1000 mg a day. Or not?

It´s Niacinamide from Swansons.

But the effects are the same as HT describes. I´ve never got the feeling as strong as that before.
Maybe I was wrong with taking two 500 mg at the sime time.?

tommmash - Only nausea is a reported side effect for niacinamide, unlike regular niacin.

That said you're probably sensitive to it, try to cut dose in half see what happens.

Well I don´t think that it´s redundant.
Especially if you have Candida albicans.

DesperateIntellect - I second tommmash. The original question was asked why not include niacinamide as part of the regular regimen. But as far as a candida is concerned that is a different story, since it is a inexpensive way to help combat candida.

Niacinamide is one of the water-soluble B-complex vitamins. Niacin, or nicotinic acid, is also known as Vitamin B-3. When an amide molecule attaches itself to niacin, it becomes niacinamide. One major difference is that in doses exceeding 50 mg, niacin typically produces flushing of the skin. Niacin and niacinamide also have different applications. It its niacinamide form, it is useful in arthritis and early-onset type I diabetes; niacin is an effective reducer of high cholesterol levels.

That quote i posted above says dont take more than 50mg per day, I think 100mg per day is safe but 1000 mg? no way

wanna report about my inflammation caused probably by Niacinamide.
Well should tell you that I have never got rid of inflammation.
But It´s quite soft and not as noticeable as that.
Today after one capsule the quite agressive inflammation has appeared. It´s not as agr. as yesterday but it´s strong.
I m nervous about it. Maybe I should drop the Niacinamide.
That´s shame. pale

Well I use 500 mg caps from swansons.
How do you know that 100 mg is enough?
On the label is wrote: "Can cause itching epecially if it is taken without meal" or something like that...

I just bought it to get me rid of inflammation.

Well all i know is i take the B100 Tabs amount in the Maxi Hair by Natures Plus
that has always been quite sufficient
a source i found online says anything more than 50mg per day can cause problems

I checked Maxi Hair at Swansons and it seems to be good source of minerals.
And perhaps it´s not bad quality. For example chelate of Zinc.
I´ve always couldnt find chelate of Zinc here in Czech.
Do you really believe that Hair vitamins has slowed you progress?
If so, you´re soooooooooooooo lucky!

You need a chelated multi mineral, separately
the maxi hair is not a good source of minerals
no way can they cram all those minerals into a hair vitamin with all the other stuff in there

go look at Kal Amino Max how big those pills are and you will see what I mean

the minerals are even more important than the vitamins and you must take both
perhaps that is why i was so successful with vitamins only and minerals

however
this was only in the initial stages of hair loss
i was doing nothing for DHT
despite this boards excitement about circumen and resveratrol, and avoiding dht blockers i am the opposite, i love natural dht blockers,

since going on those in 1999 my hair has never looked better
it is so thick on the sides and back it looks almost as thick as high school
how many guys on the board can say that>

I feel that I need to inform you about infflamation "cause by Niacinamide".
I´ve reduced dosage - 2 caps. a day.
And inflamattion seems to be dissapeared.
So the result is - NIACINAMIDE IS NOT INFLAMMATORY

Niacin in large doses will inflame your whole body, not just the scalp

it will flush your skin red all over, itchy rash like feeling prickly, also make you want to throw up , nausea

it dilates the blood vessels way too efficiently to take too much
