Inverse Psoriasis
Have been diagnosed with inverse psoriasis in my groin area and on my scrotum. Derm gave me a hydrocortisone and an antifungal, which are kind-of working...but not great. Anyone know of any natural treatments?
Besides the typical diet recommendations (lower sugar intake, no alcohol, limit meats, increase veggies), I have seen the following items recommended for traditional psoriasis:
INTERNAL
- Berberine
- Oregon Grape Root
CLEANSERS
- Coal
- Pine Tar
- http://www.iherb.com/Derma-E-Psorzema-Body-Wash-8-fl-oz-220-ml/15222?at=0
CREMES
- http://www.iherb.com/Natralia-Eczema-Psoriasis-Cream-2-oz-56-g/9159?at=0
- http://www.comforthouse.com/psoriasiscream.html
- http://www.iherb.com/Derma-E-Psorzema-Creme-4-oz-113-g/11075?at=0
The other thing I need to consider is that these are for traditional psoriasis and mine is inverse psoriasis. It's not best to promote moisture in that region for risk of bacterial and fungal growth.
Thoughts before I go spend a crapload of money?
Thanks.

Re: Inverse Psoriasis
NR,
I had a terrible bout with jock itch about ten or so years ago. Had to go to the hospital and everything. The stuff that my doctor gave me was not really effective though, so I continued to experiment with commercial products, until I finally got relief from Cortaid 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Ointment Maximum Strength. Interestingly, Cortaid comes in a "cream" as well, but the cream didn't work for me at that time. Only the ointment did.
I am still very active so I will use it on occasion: applying a little before playing or jogging prevents an outbreak in my case.
