Raw Cheese Empty Raw Cheese

Post  ITITCHES Thu Jan 28, 2010 2:28 pm

I've a real quick question.

I took some raw milk, let it sit for a day or so and then I dumped it into a cheese cloth to let it drain for an additional day or so. I didn't use or do anything at all beyond this, no starter, no rennet. It's finished now, it tastes much like any other mushy white cheese I ever had...

... Only it smells like socks/feet.

Well, that's new.

I associate that feet smell with fungal infection. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, it's real distinct. The question is, is my cheese contaminated? Should I keep eating this?
