Yellow chunks of gunky stuff coming out of my scalp after Bromelain treatment during night ..

Anyone else had stuff coming out?

First I thought it was sesam seeds I eat that had gotten into my hair .. then I thought it was the bromelain
that had dried up .. but now it happens also during the day after I washed out the bromelain .. Chunks forming on
my scalp sticking to it, and this happens just in the hair-thinning and hairweak areas (also only the places that sting
when I put on bromelain) .. It is like stuff coming out of my scalp during 24 hours following bromelain treatment. ANYONE else observed this stuff?

What ever it is you should go to the bottom of this, sounds like a powerful reaction which perhaps is beneficial in the long run.

It is defintly stuff coming out my scalp .. It is orange, some of it is dry flaked and some more "gooye" .. some it loose and other still stick to the scalp or feel like a bump, it hurts trying to peel it off, but it comes of by itself after awhile. I am surprised noone else noticed someting like this.

it sounds exactly like seborraic dermititis, which i have had in the past. yeast and bacteria make the scalp flake off in big orange /yellow scabs/flakes, that itch, hurt and pull hair out with them if u pick at it.

that only thing that doesnt match is that it started when u started that treatment, but perhaps its something that feeds yeast and bacteria.

i suggest look it up, look at some pictures and if u think it is, then use nizoral (ketoconzole) 2% every day for a week, then 1/2 times a week after.

even though generally im into natural things , and am against fin/min spiro etc, i think the anti-fungal/ anti angrogenetic or watever properties of keto is useful for everyone, and is the one chemical i will use forever.

I hate to confuse the issue but I disagree that you should stop the bromelain. I think that you should stop leaving it in overnight. I have found that using bromelain does wonders to the quality of my scalp and hair. It immediately does away with inflammation.

Also I dont know if this is simply coincidence but since I have begun bromelain my entire pre hair loss hairline has filled in with vellus hair and minor amounts dark hair. Again, I dont know if it is the bromelain.

I do know, using my hand held microscope, that when I use bromelain that my thin white vellus hair appear to get dissolved replaced in a few days with much much thicker black hair. some of this hair is growing in quite nicely.

My advice - cut the treatment time down. I personally have increased it to 45 minutes pre laser treatment - not daily . I will slowly increase based on effects . I dont want a shed!

Guys, thanks for the replies .. i dont know what the orange stuff is, but after I wash bromelain out in the morning my scalp feels good, but tender and like it just wants to be left in peace for a few days .. it calms down totally, and it does not itch and there are no flakes .. My hair quality has improved dramatically. The diffused patchy areas has closed up, since it has been such a short time it must be from the improved hair quality, rather than regrowth. The left part of my hairline is still sore, and it had the most serious thinning, there has actually formed a small wound there, it is also where I had the biggest orange stuff coming out of the scalp.

Cpio - it doesn't directly match up, but when I started using athletes foot cream on my hair, I got a lot of spots - again, like something was getting irritated and dumped out of my skin.

If that is the case CPIO I would continue on. It sounds like it is replacing it with healthy skin hence the tenderness. If you really want to make sure you are killing any microbes that are being freed up you can try some diluted grape fruit seed extract (GFSE), which works really well for seb derm. I highly doubt the bromelain is feeding them I see it more as it is destroying the microbes home (fibrotic/calcified tissue) which is causing this goo or puss or whatever.

BTW, I just checked out my scalp with my microscope and am just astonished by the proliferation of hair growth! It is starting to look wild! multiple hairs coming from follicles and single hairs clearly and dramatically shifting from white alomost transparent hairs to thick black hairs!

Another interesting experience today. I had a bit of a small scabby lump growing on my crown. I applied bromelain for an hour- the lump is gone and the area it was in , rather than feeling diseased, as it had earlier today, now feels clean smooth and healthy. I am getting more and more impressed and pleased with this bromelain topical!

This is kind of a new field of research but some claim that the link is already made. In the link below you will see that Staph. Aureus produces a unique form of calcium phosphate crystals. Currently the mayo clinic is looking into whether or not bacteria or other infectious proteins/viruses are the cause of calcification in kidney stones. Also usually in the center of a liver/gall stone is a colony of bacteria. Not really sure what the exact cause is, that is if the bacteria itself causes the calcification or if the colony is just naturally coated. However they note a pH change in the bacteria when this happens. My guess is that perhaps it is a defense mechanism by the bacteria to protect itself. Other bacteria and fungi have similar mechanisms and create slime layers that are undetectable to the human immune system. Lastly I am pretty sure I read somewhere that plaques in the arteries have a lot of microbes in them. Once again not sure if they just get stuck there or cause the calcification itself. Either way, removing the calcification can release these microbes into the system, which is why using natural antimicrobials is usually suggested for people undergoing those types of protocols.

Either way Bromelain sounds really interesting and powerful. I am wondering how it compares to the others. I believe another person on this forum noted that it was too strong for them. Also I am curious to see what everyone is using for their delivery vehicle. I am sure some are better than others. Maybe I will start a new thread on the topic to gauge and see what people are using. What are you currently using librarian?

I am also convinced that there are bacteria involved causing the immune response with itch and thinning, the reason why ACV helps is probably restoring ph value and slowing bacteria. Bromelain is awesome, but I am hesitant to leave it on all night as I have done the last 4 applications,

It is as simple as opening 1 cap of bromelain and, for me, mixing it in siome aloe vera gel.

I get these same chunks on my scalp during the day, and I just attributed it to puss forming and hardening. I use a bromelain/papain combo 2 ways, one in my clay mix (pascalite, GFSE, 2/1 bromelain to papain, and hydrated with 4/1 ACV to aloe gel), and one in an overnight topical with a shower cap and wool hat on (papain, bromelain, GFSE, aloe gel, and 10% urea lotion). The chunks seem to form much more after using the clay mix, but with seb derm as bad as I have (im using these mixes primarily as a means of treating seb derm, and not as a means of regrowing or thickening hair), it could just be from areas where the dead skin has broken down enough for puss to start forming. Oddly enough, I get the bulk of these chunks forming on the edges of where the mix was applied.

On a side note, I get the Life Extension brand 100g bottles of both papain and bromelain powder. Is there a reason why some are using the capped variety, or is it just a convenience thing?

.. where the gunky stuff has appeared correlates completely with where hair loss was going on .. I see that as an indicator of a detox reaction.

Thanks for chiming in funky. I like how you added Urea to yours. Urea is supposed to increase the efficacy of papain. Also, I like the idea of using it with clay to help absorb toxins.

In the old regrowth forums Scalpskin Lady talked about enzyme scalp peels, after a few treatments reversing some gray hair , if I remember correctly.

Im only a few weeks into the current mix, and the results have been promising at best. A few parts of my scalp that are typically crunchy now spend at least half of their time as a soft mess of skull mud comprised of dead skin and oil, so thats good to see. Overall, its hard to tell because my seb derm is so monsterously bad. I have left Nioxin Scalp Renew on the top of my scalp overnight without any irritation or results, if thats any indication on just how thick my scaling is.

A few things I have noticed, however, is that the skin on my forehead (where my hairline used to be, and where there is little or no seb derm) is exceptionally soft, and is becoming more sensitive. The way the skin feels here is probably the best it has ever felt, and I can only assume that this is what it would do to my whole scalp if my scaling wasnt as bad as it is. While I have been toying around with the papain/bromelain ratio, I can say that I think the combination of both works better than either one alone. I used papain alone for some weeks, and both the clay and the overnight topical seem to work better with the addition of bromelain.

Honestly, the overnight topical seems to work much better now that Ive added the urea cream. This stuff seems to just force moisture into your skin; applying it for a few minutes with bare fingertips turns them so pruney that youd think you had just soaked them in water for hours. Im thinking about adding a much more powerful urea cream (maybe 20-40%), but Im weary of its depilatory effect. If I could find a way of buying pure urea, Id add it to my clay mix. The cream Im using now is just too greasy to want to put in the clay in any substantial amounts.

I use 1/4 of a 500mg 2400 gdu capsule, so thats 125 mg in a little olive oil.

The good thing is, since I used bromelain I can let me hair grow, it hasnt been this long for a years time since I would always shave it down .. exciting to see how long I can let it grow until it starts to look like crap hehe.

I've been using a Papain/Zix combo for a couple months, and I've got the same hard things coming out of my scalp. They're like small white/yellow pebbles almost. I've used zix before, so it's definitely the papain. I always sort of assumed it was calcium deposits coming out of my scalp after Prague's posts a few months back, and never really worried about it.
No noticeable hair difference yet, though. Hopefully Prague has cracked the holy grail and my hair will get a lot better.
