Anyone else using topical bromelain, and what are your experience with this topical use? I think it may be dsafer than papain unless you are sensitive to pineapple.

I was hoping to read the third entry by CPIO

Re: Topical bromelain
It feels like supercharged Nioxin Scalp Renew during and after application for me.
I believe any negatives can be greatly minimized if your hair is thoroughly conditioned. I recommend virgin coconut oil for it's penetrating abilities but not everyone likes it.

Re: Topical bromelain
I use bromelain mixed with aloe vera gel. I also find that it stings alot at first. I leave it on for half an hour. I am going to do that for a month or two and then slowly increase dose and duration- powerful stuff!
Based on these trails I am more convinced that hair is living tissue in that the enzyme does not seem to dissolve the hair at all.
I have mentioned in other posts that I use a hand held microscope. When I first started using it I was pleased to find my "bald spots" covered in tiny white hairs. After my first application of bromelain I checked the next day to find that all those white hairs were gone - I was pissed. I am pleased to report that those white hairs are replaced by much thicker black ones.
Is it the bromelain? Hard to tell. I take a "kitchen sink" approach and it could be the lasering , the topicals or the internal supplements.

Re: Topical bromelain
Oh ,
Contrary to my expectations, when I check my scalp out with the microscope after the bromelain treatment I find that it has drastically reduced or eliminated my inflammation.
I use it before my laser treatment

Re: Topical bromelain
thelibrarian, I left it all night and washed it out this morning, just like Prague.
My hair feels stronger. I hope it can take away some of the itching as well.
