Ecklonia cava, any sides?
It seems to be a great supplement....has any one experienced any negative effects such as initial shedding?
Is it possible that EC can bring your blood sugar too low?

No negative effects as far as I can tell when taking it. About the blood sugar thing, don't worry unless your diabetic.

Re: Ecklonia cava, any sides?
I POSSIBLY had one. a severe headache on one side of the head ( temples, between eye and ear).
appeared 2-3 days after EC.
It stopped each time i quit.
I reengaged once, then aches.
stopped.
I reengaged third. Nothing yet, and has been months now.
Perhaps a detox. I take other things, but it can be the culprit.
Anyway, it's gone now, but i'm aware.
My explanation was because of the blood flow, my vein were bigger.
Increased Blood Flow
ECE crosses the blood-brain barrier and significantly improves blood flow, which is likely another way ECE improves memory. More specifically, Dr. Lee’s group found that ECE can increase the velocity of blood flow in the carotid artery from an average of 36.68 cm/sec. to 40.09 cm/sec., while the placebo showed no improvement.
administration.
ACE Inhibition
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), is responsible for conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II and degradation of bradykinin, and is a key component in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Angiotensin II regulates cellular proliferation, inflammation, and endothelial function, and is therefore important in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and its complications. Aging or various vascular risk factors tend to increase ACE levels resulting in excessive vasoconstriction and hypertension. Current hypotensive drugs block the action of ACE or its by-product angiotensin II.
ECE tannins have been found to be potent natural ACE inhibitors, demonstrating more than 15 times the power to inhibit ACE as the most powerful land-based polyphenols, including the natural hypotensive substance catechin found in green tea. One of the compounds found in ECE, THP-BE is comparable to the physiological vasodilative hormone bradykinin.
Nitric Oxide
ECE can regenerate the vascular endothelium, the cells critical to the inner lining of the blood vessels. They generate the chemical nitric oxide (NO), which keeps the arterial walls relaxed and dilated. After a six-week study of ECE, flow mediated dilation and NO mediated dilation increased by 60% and 50%. In another study, coronary artery disease patients were given ECE for six weeks. Blood flow controlled by NO increased 50-60%.

Hi Guys: a few questions.....
How much EK do you take each day?
At what time(s)?
Do you accompany it with a meal?
Thanks.

Re: Ecklonia cava, any sides?
Ec: One pill stays (in theory) 12 hours in the body.
do your maths, and this is why mostly everyone take 2/day ( idealy every 12 hrs) , before or with a meal because the anti oxydant effect can be benificial at that time.
you can easily up the dosage to 3/day (every 8 hrs) and see what happens.

DesperateIntellect - Do you mean one of the items, possibly ECE might have caused this? How are you feeling that you are off of everything?

Re: Ecklonia cava, any sides?
Now im off everything im good, however as soon as i take ECE then I start urintating more and if i add krill oil it gets a whole lot worse any theories on this. Could there be any reason that perhaps they dont interact well?
I have gone off both a few times and noticed the syptoms completely clear up? I realy want to know why because both are in the top of your regime

Re: Ecklonia cava, any sides?
DesperateIntellect - I wonder how you react to cod liver oil. I suppose there is a potential that you have an allergy to these. I have heard some reports (not many) of unfavorable reactions to ECE.
You might try Pycnogenol instead of ECE. Note that I will get an unfavorable reaction to pycnogenol, but I have heard of at least one example where one did well on pycnogenol and not too well on ECE. With me, pycnogenol seems to generate too much iNOS, which is an inflammatory nitrosamine. It may prove to be in the opposite for because some do very well with it.
