This topic has been discussed a couple of times:
https://immortalhair.forumotion.com/t4033-resveratrol-and-curcumin-suppress-immune-response?highlight=suppress

The question is whether the immune system is being suppressed, or just modulated.

Immune system dysfunction seems to be at the center of many disease processes. Sometimes the immune system is under-active, and other times it is over-active. For example, under-active can be observed in cases where bacteria and other antigens are not cleared effectively or when wounds are not healed properly. Over-active can be seen in auto-immune conditions where the immune system is targeting the host's own tissues.

I take both curcumin and resveratrol but I only use supplements that include the cofactors and only contain a number of mg that would otherwise be reasonably consumed through diet. I have not noticed any benefits from taking supplements that contain more than this minimal amount.

As a side note, improving the gut health is something that is supposed to be the root of modulating the immune system.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed the question is modulated or unnaturally suppressed.

Immortal could you chime in on this? I saw you posted this on that thread in 2010.
“.........And that study in question isn't even negative at all. Just the wording could be interpreted as negative. The researchers too frequently use words that are more suited to drugs. They make this mistake all the time.”

Would you say resveratrol/curcumin inhibited those immune cells due artificial means of stimulation whereas in the body as a whole there would be a natural modulatory response?

Please help me understand.

Thanks!
