Red Palm Oil For Tocotrienols
Hey everyone
I was going to start taking a bit of red palm oil everyday for its tocotrienol content. The brand I got is organic and seems to be very good.
Besides the vitamin content it seems to be nutritionally more or less similar to coconut oil.
I also may experiment with using it topically.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Oh, well it does have a really beautiful orange color.
I've used turmeric topically before (on my face, not my hair, I think turmeric actually REMOVES hair), and as long as you wash it off good enough it doesn't stain (but I've had a few times where there were a few yellow spots that were difficult to remove). Would you say this oil is better or worse than turmeric?
In any case I think I'll do a spot test tonight maybe.

^ Also I'd like to add that I just tried like 1/4 of a teaspoon of this stuff and it tastes quite pleasant, almost like pumpking I guess.
I'm still wondering about taking it orally though, for tocotrienol content. The serving size is 1 tablespoon.

I use them too.
I cant really say if they helped my hair a great deal. However it definitely seems to have an effect on my skin and sun tolerance.
What brand do you use?

Re: Red Palm Oil For Tocotrienols
Hey guys
I use the "Nutiva" brand, from Vitamin Shoppe. It doesn't harm the rain forest also, which is appareltly a thing with red palm oil. It's only about $10 for a 1 pound jar, I think that's pretty good.
Also, I've been slathering this stuff all over my face and trouble spots on my scalp, leaving it on for about 1.5-2 hours, and it washes off fine, so I'll keep at it topically. While it's on though I look orange like a pumpkin
As for eating it, it actually has a nice flavor, unlike coconut oil, which makes me shiver.
