Safe to bleech your teeth?
I'm thinking about doing this, but I fear the long term risks since this procedure needs to be repeated. Comments?
Any other tips to increase tooth health?

Misirlou - I only know what is around locally in this regard. Using peroxide type of bleaching isn't the best way.
This place is well known within the states, but they do have a kit for the home.

Do we have any natural alternative that might be a better way then? Or something else?
I really just want to minimize the enamel damage that could occur.
I know that there are a few products that uses another form of carbamide peroxide, actually it is the
form that the peroxide converts to into the mouth -> hydrogen peroxide.
I guess this reduce the treatment time, but hydrogen peroxide is basically is the "same oxidizing shit".

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
I plugged this in another thread, but the product line for teeth at neemtreefarms.com has made my teeth whiter with a few weeks usage. You may wish to check that out!

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
Nid,
Aren't you doing oil pulling? That is supposedly supposed to whiten your teeth although I don't know how it would. I tried it for the first time today and it's pretty nasty! I don't know if I'm going to keep doing it because there is no scientific support for it that I know of- only anecdotal stories.

Oil pulling? If you're referring to brushing my teeth with Mag. Oil, I've actually forgotten about that. Tastes pretty nasty, but supposedly works.

Nid, No I thought you were doing "oil pulling" http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling.html where you swish around a tblspn of oil first thing in the morning for 15 min and spit it out. Supposed to draw out toxins and mucous to cleanse.

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
The oil pulling could be effective..I guess. Wouldn't it be operable to analyze the "juice" when it's "done" to see what's in it?

If you want white teeth, use correction fluid. Tipex is the best. I tried it at an Xmas party a few years ago and man did those teeth show up well in the photos! Glenlivet was the main inspiration I think.
The malt rubbed it all of within a few drinks though.
Still you could always reapply. Just like those ladies who keep on pasting on the warpaint.
Cheers

Seriously though, if you drink lemon water daily, your teeth will end up really white
I suppose you could drink it on sunny days and make sure your teeth got a good dose of UV, but that would be for people who are really serious about their perly whites.

Your recipe also work to lighten up the color of the hair. But I'm not sure if it is safe for the mouth since it create structural damage to the shaft

If Lemon juice can get rid of freckles then I'm sure it can get rid of plague and all that garbage!

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
nothing alarmist; just an observation:
nid u mentioned some enamal loss. that happened to me from wine. the first thing my dentist asked is if i had been eating raw lemon.

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
I would be careful with lemon juice because it is very acidic and may eat away your teeth. I drink apple cider vinegar, and it is suggested that you rinse your mouth afterwards for this reason. I think there are safer alternatives.

Re: Safe to bleech your teeth?
That makes sense Gib, and has crossed my mind before as well. Thinking about it now, if it can get rid of freckles, that must mean that it's peeling away old skin...right? Or bleaching...hmm.
