How close are we to freedom? Which theory works best?
Along with everyone here or atleast mose, i enjoy researching hairloss. Sure it gets to me sometimes but ive turned it into a healthy obsession in my mind.
Anyway id just like to hear from anyone how close we are to figuring this thing out.
I dont know alot of the terms used in the hairloss world but some of the threads i read here seem to go into alot of depth and some of you seem to have a really tight grasp on what is going on with this situtation we are all in.
I like the calcium deposits theory but just like alot of other theorys there seems a bit is yet to be understood.
One problem is allways caused by another and to regulate hair growth i think we will have to adress each problem in a specific order.
Id just like to say how much i admire the dedication of some of the people here who are searching for the fix.
You all should be in a lab getting this shit done quick as im sure your all alot more knowledgable on hairloss than most doctors.
So id just like to hear what theory you 'the reader' thinks is the closest solution we have to fixing MPB.

Re: How close are we to freedom? Which theory works best?
cuebreeze - I think the best explanation is low thyroid.
To summarize real quick, thyroid influences what I believe to be the next factor that influences hair loss, which is insulin resistance. Backing up just a bit, the causes of low thyroid are many, such as processed foods, additives, xenoestrogens, and many other factors.
Insulin resistance is a problem, because it reduces oxygenation, increases DHT, imbalances intestinal microflora, upregulates negative proteins, and invites chronic inflammation.
Here's a thread I did on it:

CS:
Maybe we should collectively work on a step-by-step protocol for beating low thyroid. I think a lot of members are in my boat where we have low basal temp, and possibly other hypothyroid symptoms, but have had no luck on solving the problem despite many efforts. What do you think?

CS: I was a rare person who didn't laugh at the FNS product below. What are your thoughts on the Cinnulin PF (one of the ingredients) ... it's in a lef.org capsule supplement for diabetes and blood sugar issues. Says to take one 1/2 hour before meal to regulate insulin.
Some of the other ingredients have been talked about in positive ways ... biotin, valine.
FNS follicle nutrient serum
Ingredients ~ Purified Water, SDA-40 Alcohol, Nylon-12, Glycerine, Lactic Acid, Glucose, Ascorbic Acid, D-Biotin (Vitamin H), Choline Chloride, Choline Bitartrate, Folic Acid, Myo-Inositol, Nicotinic Acid (Niacinamide), Paba, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Alpha-Tocopherol Phosphate, Vitamin B12, L-Alanine, L-Arginine, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Cysteine, L-Glutamine, Glycine, L-Histidine, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Lysine, L-Methionine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Proline, L-Serine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan, L-Tyrosine, L-Valine, Inorganic Salts, Tetrahydrocurcumin, Carbomer, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract (Cinnulin PF®), Oleth-10, Sodium Bicarbonate, Bergamia Essential Oil, Polyquaternium-10, Oleth-10, Nisaplin, Sodium EDTA, Tromethamine.

Gromit137 - Cinnulin PF is great, because it lower blood sugar, reduces triglycerides, and it inhibits 17-beta-HSD.
Interesting that is also contains Tetrahydrocurcumin, which is a non-staining type of curcumin.

Warren - Restoration of body temperature can take a while, but in others it changes quickly.
What methods have you tried so far?

- Now Thyroid Energy
- Natural Sources Raw Thyroid
- Lugol's/Iosal Iodine (no longer doing this on a regular basis)
I've also posted a detailed account of what I've been doing here.

Warren - Have you ever had your reverse T3 measured? There is a possibility that there is a heavy metal problem.

Re: How close are we to freedom? Which theory works best?
Yes I am high in mercury and current chelating.
Never had my reverse T3 measured. I asked my doctor last time but she said it was only measured after other numbers indicate it should be.
Any ideas?

JMHO, i feel that sebum production and thyroid issues played a vital role

Re: How close are we to freedom? Which theory works best?
Warren - I can think of a few reasons to test reverse T3 levels. Firstly, if there is indication of insulin resistance or diabetes and secondly if there is high presence of mercury. Thirdly, if energy production is low despite thyroid and iodine replenishment.
In diabetics, the process of conversion from T4 (thyroxine) into T3 (triiodothyronine) is less efficient. Typically thyroid tests will reveal absolutely nothing wrong with thyroid hormone in patients with blood sugar issues, but if they also check into Reverse T3, this will indicate the trickery, fooling your body into thinking it has enough T3. If energy production is low despite whole thyroid treatment, this I think is a sign that bio-identical T3 would help gets things back into proper order.
Mercury of course, also increases reverse T3, again fooling the labs and making the patient appear to have normal thyroid function.
Other than mercury, there are other heavy metals, such as cadmium (we get this from just breathing brake dust in the air) or perpetual fasting.
I would try something like Humifulvate to gently clear out these toxins.

IH-
Does humifulvate interfere with the rest of the regimen? I mean, while we are on it,one should drop the other supplements?
Or just take it alone away from the other regimen?

edony - Humifulvate is easy to take, one capsule before bedtime is ideal. In this way there is no problem with other supplements.
