Iodine/ Terrible metal taste

I just got lugols 2% solution and taking 20 drops a day.
First is it supposed to taste like metal. Its also red. Is that normal.
Also giving me headaches in the middle of the night.
Im taking 200 mcg selinium
And 250 mg magnesium

I'm taking iosol and in water it does have a rust like colour
Metal taste? I've never though of it that way tbh, I actually don't mind it's taste, think I'm one of the few that does though.

Trace - Those are initial sides that typically occur the first week or so. I would suggest you do some salt loading to detoxify the bromides, which are causing those effects. Also, would reduce your dose and then build up again post salt loading.

I understand about the headaches, but what about the taste and the red color. Did I buy the wrong stuff. I have iodine before and it was tasteless, but not this stuff.

94% Distilled water, 4% Potasium Iodide, 2% Iodine.
Is the potasium iodine the reason for taste and red color.
