Leaky gut and dairy
Hi Folks,
Its been a long journey so far on improving gut health. I am very thankful to those who shared their advice on this forum. One huge takeaway for me was from little fighters posts re: dairy.
I've noticed that dairy is vilified now-a-days. And probably for a good reason - pasteurized dairy is just plain old wrong.
I first developed a leaky gut from excessive grain consumption - and boy it was tough. Anything i would eat and my body would go cold. Bones felt weak and my face was pale. My parents kept telling me get some milk but unfortunately i only felt worse after using plain old pasteurized milk.
Then i found a coop farm in NJ - farm fresh milk. The cow's milk was tasty intact delicious but not much helpful for the gut. Next i tried raw goat milk. And now i feel so much better. I can tell my intestinal lining is getting stronger day by day. In fact i don't get as cold as i often did (cold feet and hands) and i can tolerate coffee if i supplement with some goat milk/goat yoghurt after.
I tried many approaches to fix the gut: coconuts, fruits, broth but in the end dairy and honey did the trick. I feel as if there is so much information but also misinformation out there on fixing the gut (paleo diet - i cant believe someone would consume meat 7 days a week while sitting in an office chair - moderation is the key). I went Paleo for a while and did not make any improvement whatsoever - when i combined goat's milk, camels milk and honey that's when the gut starting healing up at a dramatic pace.
Thanks everyone,
Strider

Manuka honey (raw & unheated)
if you cant find manuka i would recommend buckwheat (unheated) most of the honey on the market is heated to 100 degrees but labelled as unheated....(quackery)

Re: Leaky gut and dairy
Moby - i would always lose hair esp. during the night and it would be a considerable shed. If i drink a cup or raw goat milk - the shed is almost negligible.
I've been gluten/sugar free for almost a year but my hair quality was so so. After introducing raw goat's milk - i was frankly surprised by the thickness that's been added to the top. The roots feel stronger.

Re: Leaky gut and dairy
That's good news, I would think raw milk with its trillion bacteria count would help a lot of us if it wasn't so hard to obtain it. Where I live, there are a bunch of Russian/Polish stores that sell Kefir which apparently is a popular drink in Eastern Europe so I'd like to believe that it is the real deal. Has anyone ever tried those?
