Iodine and ACV

Caustic- Is it bad that 2drops of iodine and 1 tablespoon mixed together with water every morning just curious? Lugol's direction says to mix iodine with acv but every wednesday and Sunday not every day.

youngbalder - I'm not sure where that comes from, because whether it is in the form of Iodoral or Lugol's solution, it is recommended to take it daily.

Yeah, I got the same info. I believe they said to add the ACV to "de-acidify" the solution. But vinegar is an acid, so I don't get that. Maybe I am remembering incorrectly. What are the exact directions that Blood Root gives in their pamphlet, youngbalder?

CS - Is it OK to mix iodine in with other stuff? I remember the directions saying that you should take iodine with water and ACV on an empty stomach 20 min. before a meal. However, I have a lot of stuff to take in the morning and don't always have the time. I'd like to add my iodine in with my Toco-8 drink, which is what I gulp down when I take EC, etc. Will the iodine "kill" any of these natural supplements. I know iodine can be used to purify water by killing bacteria, and I wanted to make sure that it doesn't also kill off other types of organic material before mixing it.

NewReg - I have that literature right in front of me and I ignore it completely. I just squirt a few drops (sometimes more) in water usually when I take my supplements.

In the bloodroot literature it says to add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar for slight acidification

Perhaps in an older person this might be of use, but I do not find it necessary.

newreg - ACV : acidify outside the body , alcalanize inside the body ( stomach, intestin) . like lemon by the way.

I'm curious about NewReg's question as well--but regarding my internal flora: Because Lugol's Iodine is known for purifying water (including killing any bacteria that may be present), how safe is Lugol's Iodine for the beneficial bacteria in our guts? Will it also destroy the internal bacteria?

KingDaPuma - It's best to take Lugol's solution on an empty stomach between meals. When using high doses for therapeutic effects (Candida, etc.) intestinal flora will need to be replenished.

Smaller doses will not be significant.

CS - CAn you please state the limit of lugol's to take where we do not need to replenish intestinal flora ?
And what do you advice to take ( or to eat i our diet ) to replensih that flora ? a good probiotics ? ( and for ex , vitamin coe probiotic is sufficient ?)

And last, is GFSE ( grapefruit seed exctract) at high dose ( 15 drops 3 times , that means 300 mg a day extract) can kill the flora on the long run ?

europe - Grapefruit seed extract does not kill healthy intestinal flora in regular doses. Excessive doses, it is possible.

Use of 12.5 milligrams of Lugol's will not kill healthy flora either. Amounts used in excess of 50 milligrams probably will.

Unless you're targeting Candida there's really no need to over do it on Lugol's.
