Great post. I shaved clean back in January of this year and its easily the best decision I've made in the past five years. People really do treat you differently. Obviously, at age 25 I'm not getting the attention I did at 18 with a full head of hair, but its a lot more than I did 3 years ago when I was about half-way to this point. Looking back, it was easy to see that, while the hair played a part, a big part of it was what it communicated about me. I was to insecure to let it go. I think you lose a lot of respect when people sense that insecurity about you, it suggests a weakness and discomfort in your character. Again, while having a bald scalp may never be considered as "pretty" as a thick head of hair, the acceptance of it is key.

while i agree with the outcomes of that study, and think its good for 'baldies', the point is when youve got hair, u get to choose ur look, even if u want it shaved, while when bald u have ur look thrust upon u, as in u have no choice.

Very interesting!

If I was a NW7 I'd probably grow dreads out the back or get a long hair piece / wig.

agree with what you are saying in the context of your post but in terms of accepting mpb . . I don't think I ever will. Maybe it all would be easier if I could, maybe.
