Is the top 6 healthy overall? Empty Is the top 6 healthy overall?

Post  Growdamnit Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:15 pm

I just received my first package of the top 6 and it all looks like half of the bottles are cotton and just a couple pills thrown in there. Is this stuff legit and is it healthy for the body (not just the hair) overall?

Did you count the capsules? And have you never ordered supplements before that had cotton?

All the bottles are the same size. In order to pass on the savings to the consumer (the idea is to keep things as affordable as possible). Therefore, some additional space exists due to different sizes of the respective capsules/contents.

On the question of healthy, there's an abundance of information in the scientific literature that shows
the various promotion of health effects on the human system....they work with the body physiologically speaking.

So, what you're saying is that even if it doesn't help me grow my hair back, it won't do any damage to my body?

Yes, and generally that would be an understatement.

For example, they engender the body to detoxify, liver and other organs, increasing beneficial antioxidant enzymes (associated with longer life).

Orthomolecular medicine means to use safe (physiologic amounts) to facilitate, natural functions in the human body.
This is the basic premise behind this approach. Moreover, it is for optimal health. (Anti-aging)

Hair loss at its core is a form of premature senescence (premature aging in some tissue). Or to put it another way,
shorter telomeres in some tissue (this is not even theory, but shown in research).

These natural substances promote reduction of telomere shortening (they slow down the attrition of telomere shortening).

Having said that, when people ask, what about a telomerase activator....the answer is, that is already being actuated by these supplements.

This is in contrast to mainstream medicine which uses pharmaceutical petroleum products that either poison enzymes or block necessary functions in the body. It's not possible to be healthy taking pharmaceutical drugs on a regular basis that interfere with normal body processes.

The first thing most are taught is about toxicity, so it's the first thing people tend to think about when taking anything.
Sadly, natural substances, which are prohibited by law to have any of the scientific evidence, regardless of how much exist, printed on their labels. Instead, nebulous statements have to be made, along with advisory notices about "Not being evaluated by the FDA."

Of course, the FDA never actually tests anything, including drugs, they rely on drug manufacturer sponsored (non-independent) clinics to furnish information that is supplied to the FDA, then they generally omit whatever data doesn't hold favor to them.

So once again, there is a contrast between what Ortho Nutrition does and say a pharmaceutical company does. One is transparent, the other is not.

I really appreciate the help, CS, but can they only shorten and not reverse telomere shortening? I feel like if we have the hair loss gene, it is inevitable. I don't want to slow it down, I want to stop it completely and diminish.

If I'm not mistaken I believe magnesium will actually repair/restore telomeres.

Stopping telomeres from shortening completely would be like creating immortality. However, it's not so bad to gain more years of life with better hair.

A magnesium deficiency will cause telomere shortening to hasten.

All supplements come with cotton wool, its to stop the capsules being damaged in shipping.

'but can they only shorten and not reverse telomere shortening?'

I LOL'ed when i read this. Dude, if his supplements could reverse telemere shortening u would not age ever again. I think ur expectations are a bit high. He is not a god, if he could do that, he would not be on a forum, hes be riding a cloud, and time travelling.

Yeah, I suppose it seems pretty stupid, but I should've worded it a better way. I meant to ask if this can cause regrowth or just keep the hair that you have.

Used long enough the results can provide you with either stability, regrowth.

How well and how long it takes will depend on some factors. For example, depending on polymorphorisms, diet,
mineral deficiencies, general health condition will impact any treatment.

As for me, I haven't worried about my hair loss for years now. Hair only seems to get better with age.
In the beginning I only desired to keep what I had, but I benefited more-so with regrowth.

This is a pro-hair approach that happens to also be anti-aging.
