[OT] exterminating black mold with heat? Empty [OT] exterminating black mold with heat?

From the Internet, it seems that the only sure method for exterminating mold and mildew is to take the place to 65+ celsius (149F) for a prolonged amount of time (30 minutes).

How dangerous could that be?

Living in a rent-controlled apartment in San Francisco, can I have my landlord carry the cost for it?

Also: can the issue be due to the coin-operated dryer just below my bedroom? it's in a very small enclosed room and the vapors are not ducted outside.

thank you!
