Any advice ?
Hi everyone,
I am 26 years old. I have been reading this forum for a year as I wanted to halt my hairloss without using chemical drugs. Also, it was as an opportunity to implement a new lifestyle and achieve general health benefits.
Unfortunately, despite drastic changes in my food intakes (no gluten, no processed food, no refined sugar, no pasteurized milk) and the use of supplements, my situation has been worsening hair wise.
I did try a lot of supplements (too much obviously) without success :
- Ecklona cava (for several months), ALA & ALC (several months), D3 (months), Quercetin (months), EGCG (months), Ashagwanda & Phosphatidylserine to manage my stress and cortisol (weeks) Relora or Damiana as well, Pumkin seed oil & Nettle (weeks), Decalcify (months), B-complex (a year), probiotics (weeks), earthing, massages, etc.
- Especially, I did not respond well to curcuma (used it for 3 months at the very beginning and lost a lot of hairs).
- Heavy metal detox also worsened hair loss.
- Lately I tried Schizandra to help with adrenal fatigue.
Here comes my last blood test, if something catch your attention please tell me.
Copper : 900 mcg/l (700 - 1 400)
Zinc : 21.0 umol/l (16.5 -26)
Selenium : 1.51 umol/l (1.34 – 2.84)
Free T3 : 5.59 pmol/l (3.10 - 6.50)
Free T4 : 14.57 pmol/l (11.50 – 22.70)
T.S.H. : 3.28 mUI/L (0.55 – 4.78)
DHEA Sulfate : 9.79 umol/l (4.43 – 11.54)
Pregnegolone (RIA) : 4.6 ng/ml (3.90 – 13.50)
D3 : 41.79 ug/l & 104.48 nmol/l
Vitamin E : 13.3 mg/l (12.0 – 20.0)
Vatamin A1 : 0.72 mg/l (0.50 – 0.80)
SHBG : 52.15 nmol/l (14.50 – 48.40)
Salivary test :
Estradiol : 2.83 pg/ml (<2.72)
Progesterone : 169.7 pg/ml (<79)
DHEA : 1613.8 pg/ml (72 – 519)
Cortisol (8 am) : 0.641 ug/dl
Testostérone : 198.0 pg/ml (41.0 – 143.0)
Urinary dosage :
Creatinine : 1.797 g/l*
Iodine : 164.1 ug/l (110.0 – 300.0)
I was not using supplements during this test.
My physician prescribed me Pregnegolone (50 mg) as I also suffer from memory loss. But this resulted in more hair loss & inflammation (increased cortisol ?).
I know one shouldn’t just try herbs without exactly knowing what he s doing. Now I decided to use nothing but what I’m convinced is helping :
Krill oil (1g)
Iodine – 12 mg (& cofactors : Selenium, Magnesium, Boron, Vit C)
MSM (1500 mg)
However, I experience constant scalp inflammation so I can tell something is wrong and I have come to a point where more loss is going to seriously hit my confidence.
So what should I do ? Any advice ?
Is 7-HMR still used with success by some ? (flax seed helped me a lot a year ago but gave me insomnia)
Some informations about myself :
- Tight scalp
- Underweight
- Low libido
- Permanent headache & severe eyesight troubles (but this could not be related at all)
Anyway this place is a goldmine. I have learnt so much here. Thank you.

Yes I should get back to scalp exercices.
Are high Estradiol levels any concern ? Aren't they linked to prostate cancer ?

Re: Any advice ?
No never. I took some natural DHT blockers (saw palmetto, nettle, pumpkin) a few months ago.

very real possibility it couldve been the saw palmetto causing your libido problems now. i know there a few members on www.propeciahelp.com that have taken saw palmetto before and they have similar effects.

Re: Any advice ?
Yes, I should never have taken Saw Palmetto. Natural doesn't mean no side effects, I have learned it at my expense.
So these kind of troubles may be linked to prostate issue ? methylation problems ?
