Eating foods that hair is compromised of?
Had this simple thought what what if we ate foods that the actual terminal hair physically is made of?
So, looks like protein from animal for Keratin, glucose for glycogen, and citrulline is non essential synthesized from glutamine but can be found in watermelons as well.

Terminal Hair
An individual hair is called a follicle. A follicle begins under the skin with a base called a bulb. This supports the hair's root and sebaceous gland, which is also under the skin. From out of the root grows the hair shaft above the skin. The inside of the shaft is called the medulla. It's composed of a core made of a honeycomb of loose cells that contain glycogen and citrulline. Surrounding that core is a harder keratin-packed layer called the cortex. Over that is a layer of cells that give the hair its shine. It's called the cuticle. In the cortex and cuticle is melanin, which gives hair its color.

well I'm sure plenty of people here get plenty of animal protein and glucose besides the citrulline. We probably would have heard about that by now from bodybuilders and some athletes if that had a great effect on hair.

plenty of vegetarians have thick hair (alec baldwin as one example pulled from the hat). the animal protein doesnt matter. eat all the protein you want, if you have aga your hair is still going to miniaturize.

Doesn't Alec Baldwin have diabetes or something of that sort? I remember him mentioning that during one of Letterman's interviews.
It would make sense that some food have an effect on your hair. If your parents ate "hair food" that might explain people with thick hair versus thin hair. It can't be coincidental. Why do Indian people have such good hair?

Hyper-keratinization is one of the problems with male pattern baldness. The body will produce it on its own as part of the wound-healing mechanism, and trust me we don't need any more haha. The scarring from these kind of deposits is what gives the shiny scalp look of typical MPB.
And as far as the amino acids, people who get enough protein in their diet form quality sources should be just fine. Protein deficiencies in the Western world are hard to come by, although I do feel people could be suffering from the negative consequences of eating terrible protein sources, i.e. antibiotic/corn/soy fed animal meat.
The thought is intuitive and has the right idea that we need to eat with the idea of reubilding the body in mind, but on the other side of the token, this can be taken too far. It would be like saying eating muscle meats is going to add muscle to my body. Not exactly true. Can the building blocks be used to synthesize protein? Sure. But it doesn't provide the stimulus to do so. That takes something else. Or perhaps, a lack of a negative growth factor that is inhibiting the growth. It goes both ways.
You can put all of the ingredients needed to make a cake into a big mixing bowl, but a cake isn't going to appear. You've gotta take the whole system into account, all of the positive and negative growth factors that are present in that system, and all of the autonomous processes that aren't under your conscious control. If we could consciously control what the body did with what we gave it, well that would be a hell of a thing.
