Would a hair transplant prevent any further improvment from natural/manual methods?
Hi all,
I have been following the natural aproach (diet, supplements, detox etc) for several years and manual methods (brushing, massage, excercises) during this year. I have seen improvement from this but it is so sloooow progress.
Last week my life took a really nose-dive so I am, for the first time, considering a hair transplant to be able to put the stress off loosing hair aside for a while and concentrate on sorting my life out.
The clinic I am considering are using a variant of the FUE-method; single follicle extraction (like normal FUE), and single follice insertion with a special instrument with a 1 mm hollow needle (no scalpel). I was figuring this method was least invasive and damaging to the scalp, like "even if they destroy one dormant follice at insertion, they replace it with one that actually will grow a hair"
I would like to know if the hair transplant (=the damage to the scalp from insertion) will prevent any further benefits and improvments from the natural/manual regime or could I continue and thicken my hair up even further?
I'm 44 years old and have been battling this "mother****" called hair loss for over 20 years now.
This is my current status:

I would really appreciate your input on this.

i dont see how a HT could prevent whatever benefit you might be getting from your regime. if HT to ensure no further loss you need to ensure no further DHT binds to the androgen receptor otherwise you will continue to lose your hair. i dont see the point in wasting 1000s on an HT without using a proven treatment. if afraid to use a 5aR inhibitor look into RU 58841 as a topical antiandrogen. itd be more expensive but probably about as effective.

Hi LawOfThelema ,
thank you for your reply and advice. I will look into RU 58841 before I make any decision.
