PEMF and ion generators

Hey guys.
I´ve got a small travel ion generator with carbon-fibers and i´m interested in your experiences with this kind of technology. Is it as effective as grounding? Has anyone used PEMF? Is it valuable or can you get the same benefits with cheaper/simpler methods?

I'm using PEMF for osteoarthritis of the knee - it's working well. My understanding of how it works suggests it might be useful for hair loss, but no experience there myself.
