hello
I was on a diet high in protein and low carbs about 4 months now...I do exercise a lot, like running and bodybuilding...e.t.c.
I stop any activity at first of July and i prepare my self for two weeks of vacation to a Greek island.
Anyway, it was fantastic, all day at the beach, a lot of sex, alcohol, but and a lot of food too...and of course not so good for health..(simple carbs, cooked fat, ice creams, candy e.t.c). It was really relaxing and refreshing.
I comeback with 6 pounds more and from the first day, i had a neck soreness really annoying, back pain, weakness, sleepiness and general no mood at all to do nothing...
I thought that was from the town environment, but after a week now, things are exactly the same...i can recover my self...
Of course and my hair starts to look more awful...
I'm thinking to try for the first time a heavy metal detox program, but i do not won't to mess with iodine, at least now...
Can you advise me from where to start and what i have to lookout at the beginning?
I have read threads in this forum about detoxification but too much supplements and i don't know what to choose...
I'm 37 by the way....

Were you in Crete? Anyway, wouldn't shy away from iodine indefinitely.

Either of those products will be fine. However, Immune boost 77 is probably a better value (I used to recommend the stuff you listed).

3 grams of vitamin C taken all at once or in divided doses. I prefer to take this before bed.

If you would like to add more, magnesium (citrate) form is good.

I've been to Crete, how was Naxos? Which place did you prefer?

So...you were in Crete??? Actually, if you were in Chania it is one of the most beautiful places in Greece...Not the only of course because we have plenty... sunny
Last summer i was in Chania with my friends...and we have a different kind of fun if you know what i mean... bounce
Now in Naxos i had my girlfriend with me... tongue but of course Crete is superior island from Naxos (and much much bigger too) but the food, the people, and the beach's was almost equal...Naxos is most like a relaxing - family place and do not have the night life of Crete...it is ideal if you have a family and kids but not if you are single...but it have the most beautiful sunset in Cyclades islands Cool and if you choose the right place to stay (agios prokopios for example) when you return back you will be in my situation.... bounce bounce bounce

For me If you want change in your life get away from those activities what will only ruin your health just like alcohol. There is no point at all that you have been into exercise and staying fit but still you are doing habits that will ruin you.

GD, i know you're right, but that was just a vacation break just for two weeks in an entire year....obviously i'm getting old, because is the first time that i can't get my self up... Crying or Very sad

Steve_Gr - Thanks for the info on Greece. Yes, I was in Crete some years ago on vacation.
Salt loading is optional, but it will help prevent any mild side effects (with the Vitamin C) when introducing
larger amounts of iodine into the system.

One last question...this the brand of vitamin C that i use

as you can see contains and other things like nac, ala, calcium and Quercetin in small amounts of course...do you believe that may can cause any interaction with any detox product?

It is okay. I prefer to use "acidic" vitamin C to promote a greater stomach acid production. The best vitamin C this use if metabolic C (which is a lipid based form, and has a better-half life).
