Going in for a checkup and bloodwork, what to look for
Yeah it's been awhile since I've been in for a checkup, and I was thinking about having some blood tests done to check for any irregularities In my body.. I'm assuming that you can check for thyroid function, and for diabetes, but my question is, are there any other tests I should go ahead and run while I'm at it?

liver function enzymes, hdl, ldl (cholesterol) and full blood count. it will include pottasium and sodium levels but not sure about other minerals. u can get a hair analysis done for minerals but its hard to know wat normal levels should be (theyre normal ranges are based on percentiles.) and some people dont agree with the science behind hair analysis over blood.

Is there a rule I need to follow about eating before I go?
Will the blood test reveal insulin resistance?

8-12 hrs fasting (water only) before cholesterol and fasting blood sugar test, but the doctor will probably give u a form, and then youll have time to fast and go tothe pathology collection centre (at least thats how it works in aussie)
if doctors take blood on the spot then fast 8 - 12 hrs before u go. easiest thing to do is just go first thing in the morning, so ur not hungry.
