SSKI and prostatitis Empty SSKI and prostatitis

I was reading through some older posts about using SSKI and prostatitis. I was just curious about the process at which this would help with prostatitis as I am going through this currently. Not sure if its prostatitis but have that discomfort when "holding it". Ive read it could also be due to muscle tension.

Iodine is something to consider taking regardless, also look into suppository EDTA.

SSKI and prostatitis Empty Re: SSKI and prostatitis

I had a case of prostatitis this winter. Pretty painful and no fun at all. Doctor wanted to put me on antibiotics (I can't remember which ones) which were strong, broad spectrum and known for nasty side effects. I declined. Found the info here on the "Daily Topic" and applied it:

1. Take d-mannose!! Initially I was on a gram every 2 hours before cutting back to two 500mg tabs a day (still taking that)

2. Wobenzyme - a German mixture of digestive enzymes that when taken on an empty stomach have anti-inflammatory properties. I took the pills by the handful twice a day for about 3 weeks. Now I take 4 or 5 once daily and will slowly cut back.

3. I upped my lugol's dose a bit but I think 1 and 2 did more to help.

If you do have prostatitis I feel for ya. My back, balls, and upper thighs ached something terrible. Hurt to sit or lie down. It got noticeably better within 48 hours with this and totally gone in 2 weeks. Apparently it is really tough to get rid of for some men so I figured I'd take a long time slowly weaning myself off these things. Had it beginning of February. Haven't given it a thought since the beginning of March.

Interesting.. let me know how it goes after you have come off of your regimen. I have heard it is hard to cure. I am still wondering if I do in fact have prostatitis as I only have discomfort when I have the need to use the restroom which is sometimes often. I will be looking into trying this out. Ill update. Thanks

Wow the reviews on iherb for d-mannose seem promising even if its a different form of infection.

bh1546,
I consider myself to be fully cured now. I am totally normal in all ways with lack of pain, normal urinary and sexual function. I am only staying on the supplements and slowly weaning myself off them (very slowly) because I have heard that it is very hard for some guys to get totally rid of without recurrence. I'll update you when I am finally totally off them, but for now I strongly suggest you give it a try.
