prostatitis
Hi again guys
Today I´ve been diagnosed of prostatitis and the doctor prescribed me an antibiotic to take during six weeks!!! Otherwise it could become chronic he says. I asked for a second opinion with exactly same result (they must have studied the same book). I´ve been taking Cranberry & Grape extract (most similar to D-Mannose I could find here in Spain) last four days cause i thought it was an urine infection. Now I got the only Potassium Iodide in Pharmacies around here, but it´s on tablets and it´s 200micrograms per tablet, which means that I should take nearly a hundred tablets every four hours... I have a Iodine solution called Atomidine whose concentration is 600 mcg per drop, I don´t know if this would help meanwhile. Actually I don´t wanna make it worst so i also bought the antibiotics. What would you do? In case of taking the antibiotics, what would you take to protect internal flora? I need advice... Thank you

Re: prostatitis
kirtanyogi - What you need is SSKI (Super Saturated Potassium Iodide).
Going through Amazon.com might help you out here. Here's two links that are in pill form.

Re: prostatitis
Thanks so much for being so fast CS!
The problem is that it will take at least a week to have it here and I don´t know what to do meanwhile... Taking my poor KI? Keeping on Cranberola (kind of D -Mannose)? Just wait?

Re: prostatitis
kirtanyogi - Try asking your local pharmacist if they have super saturated potassium iodide. State the kind used to protect against a nuclear meltdown. Usually SSKI tablets will contain between 35 and 60 milligrams each. Or it might be available by liquid form which is more likely. If that doesn't work you could buy D-Mannose from iherb.

Re: prostatitis
Thanks CS for your help, but today I´ve given up
My order from iherb won´t be here until next week, D-Mannose is not sold over the counter here in Spain and same with SSKI. I was feeling worse, soar throat, high temperature, hurting gums... I´ve taken the antibiotics and i feel better. I´ll wait until I have my stuff. What would you take to minimize antibiotics harm?

Re: prostatitis
Hi CS, my KI just arrived so i´m willing to start and dropping antibiotics. The KI i have is tablet form and there´s 32.5 mg KI per tablet. I was wondering what the dosage should be...

Re: prostatitis
kirtanyogi - Based on the milligram per pill I would recommend 10 tablets every four hours within a 24-hour period. No need to take any more after that.

Re: prostatitis
If you start getting bromide detox symptoms ... pimples, dark thoughts etc. you can try the salt water protocol. Works very well IME.

If you can, I'd recommend Selenomethionine for it's protective affect as well.

Re: prostatitis
Hi again,
After a complete normal ultrasound scan last week, my urine results have thrown out i have a bacteria called Echerichia Coli. I don´t have symptoms for the moment, but i was wondering if i should go again through Potassium iodide protocol or using D-mannose for a while or if it is normal to have this kind of bacteria in urine. Any ideas? Thanx

Re: prostatitis
kirtanyogi - Yes, either SSKI or D-Mannose will work for that.
