B-12 deficiency - really a problem when eating meat?
So, maybe it´s true. Maybe even meat eaters needs to supplement with B-12.
What is your thoughts?
From what I've heard though, cyanocobalamin should be avoided.

hey check out those videos on nutritionfacts.org
http://nutritionfacts.org/videos/new-vitamin-b12-test/
http://nutritionfacts.org/videos/daily-source-of-vitamin-b12/
http://nutritionfacts.org/videos/cheapest-source-of-vitamin-b12/
http://nutritionfacts.org/videos/safest-source-of-b12/
http://nutritionfacts.org/videos/vitamin-b12-recommendation-change/
in on of those videos says that basically people who eat meat have ok levels but that might not be optimal only people who had higher level were vegans that supplement and people who eat lots of fortified breakfast cereals lol.
the cyano form of B12 should be ok for the vast majority of people, even though containing cyanide the amounts are negligible:
http://jacknorrisrd.com/?p=2601
http://www.veganhealth.org/b12/nocyano
guess otherwise good alternatives are methyl or hydroxocobalamin
http://www.veganhealth.org/b12/noncyanob12
malabsorption, hypothyroidism and alcoholism can increase you need for B12 as well quite interesting:
http://www.veganhealth.org/b12/def
so yeah i reckon everyone could benefit from supplementing. B12 is dirty cheap and no side effects even at high doses
hope that helps

Thanks for the great info alphadelta!
According to my sources, cyanocobalamin isn't useful for the human organism and would add negative side effects such as pumping the serum levels up, giving false results from blood samples.

Re: B-12 deficiency - really a problem when eating meat?
yeah i know what you mean, there seem to be a lot of controversy around when it comes the cyanocobalamin... not sure whats true and based on science or if its just some companies trying to sell a different kind of B12.
so if you dont wanna use cyanocobalamin just go for the methyl variety, should be just as good ...maybe even better
those look ok on iherb:
http://www.iherb.com/Pure-Advantage-B-12-500-mcg-Spray-1-fl-oz/18154?at=0
that would be good for like every secound day or so
http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-B-12-5000-mcg-60-Lozenges/117?at=0
that maybe like once a week
