Alcohol and Inflammation
I recently posted this on my Anxiety topic, but I didn't get an answer for it. I'm just wondering has anyone experienced the same or does anyone have an answer to this:
One question though which I want people to answer is, why does my inflammation completely subside when I drink alcohol. As I stated above I have constant inflammation which ranges from medium to f**king dragon fire intense. Once I start drinking it immediately goes away. It's crazy, it's like the ultimate cure. I've come up with some explanations for this:
- Alcohol reduces androgen levels (I have yet to find what effect alcohol has on androgen levels while you are drinking, most studies show how alcohol effects androgens in binge drinkers over time).
- Alcohol reduces stress levels in the body, therefore relaxing you and somehow cutting inflammation.
- Alcohol is a vasodilator therefore it stimulates blood flow to the scalp and cuts inflammation.
None of these may be right, but I've never seen this fully discussed so I have to jump to conclusions. Does anyone know the reason for this?.

Re: Alcohol and Inflammation
I agree with the fact that alcohol seems to numb the inflammation at the time you drink it. However, personally for me it seems to cause more inflammation the next day.

Drinking alcohol is not the ultimate cure for anything. If you suffer from anxiety it can really mess with your head, physically and mentally. There are many other ways to deal with both of your problems. Alcohol is not the answer.

Ha, you completely misunderstood me there. In no way do I advocate drinking alcohol as a cure, I am just looking for the mechanism behind it's ability to stop inflammation in it's tracks. I agree completely that it makes anxiety worse.
I'd like to know how it stops inflammation though so I can maybe use this information to help with my struggle to stop inflammation in the long run.
At the moment I'm leaning towards circulation as the most likely answer. I am hoping for more information on this.

just an idea, but maybe it is because it lowers the immune system, thus less inflammation almost inst, but you increase the inflammation in your GI track, thus you will feel some kind of inflammation later.
I noticed the same with the cigarettes, if I don't smoke 1 or two cig a day, I usually feel inflammation on different parts of the scalp.

As usual I've always assumed it was Candida-related... lol
Alcohol kills Candida but most light alcoholic drinks are bad for Candida due to all the sugar and yeast and what-not.
But.. yeah, that was always my assumption o.O

Alcohol increases inflammation, not the opposite.

I'm talking about scalp inflammation. I have intense inflammation everyday, 1-2 beers and it's gone. The day after it usually is worse..

That is what Im talking, when you have inflammation on your scalp that might be due to autoimmun, drinking alcohol lower your IS, thus less inflammation, but at the same time you increase inflammation in ur body, thus the next day you pay it, just my idea.

Try to be a LITTLE more open-minded. Additionally, try to actually explain things...
Instead of saying "Alcohol always causes inflammation".. try to actually explain why!
Re: Alcohol and Inflammation
lot of possibilities CS has said that being able to put on fat easier will make your body deal with toxins later which was a theory why some fat unhealthy people have very good hair. I've also read on this forum that some drink can partially inhibit dht was it whiskey I don't remember? I would say regardless drinking large amounts often is never healthy so drinking in moderation is key.
