Quercetin decreases CRF expression in brain- Should it be avoided if cortisol levels are low?
I've read that quercetin decreases CRF expression in brain which in turn accounts for its antidepressant and anxiolytic effects. But what about someone who has anxiety and depression who is also in a high stage of adrenal fatigue and is producing low levels of glucocorticoids (i.e. cortosil)? Would this be detrimental?

This is an interesting question.
How about this: Take quercetin to reduce CRH expression in the hypothalamus, while indirectly boosting cortisol through caffeine and exercise? Sounds good in theory.

I'm not positive but I don't think taking it when your cortisol is low would be detrimental, because quercetin is helpful with stress, and you got that far into adrenal fatigue by being chronically stressed. I have late stage AF as well and am going to start taking it. Remember that stresses in your life have to be dealt with somehow or else once your adrenal glands finally recover they will just burn out again, hopefully quercetin can help with this.

I second Ouro.
Remember Quercetin is not a drug. All drugs destroy enzymes and block physiologic pathways.
Quercetin is a biological response modifier. For example, those with allergies often have low cortisol production, and Quercetin reduces allergic response.
