plastic bottle, mold and cavities. Empty plastic bottle, mold and cavities.

[stupid silly question ahead]

I drink from a BPA-free sport plastic bottle.

When the bottle is not full, I notice some sort of opaque film on the inside of the bottle.

I wonder if that is could be some form of colorless mold... being plastic organic I am afraid mold may hatch on it...

And if it is, can it explain why no matter how hard I am trying and re-mineralize my teeth their cavities get steadily worse as time goes by?

thanks!

BPA, or non-BPA plastic, a slimy layer will often deposit on the water if kept for long. Especially if you are using non-RO water. At least, this has been my personal observation. Try and add sea salt to the water and see, the slime will deposit even faster.

Solutions-
a) fill up with water as much free from microorganisms as possible.
b) clean the bottle/container surface as frequently as required. Every two days, or twice a week, depends.

IMO this focus on BPA is misguided. Sure, you should avoid BPA, but that doesn't imply that BPA free products are safe.

What are you eating? Remineralization diet is no grains (even though whole grains are very good for your body overall, they aren't good for teeth), and high calcium (drink lots of milk!).

Also, intermittent fasting is, eating only 1 or 2 times a day. Or preferably eat once every other day.

Regarding cavities getting worse, check out what "tonyj" posted earlier today in another topic:

"My dentist told me that the main reason people get cavities (besides not following a basic dental hygiene plan) is because they don't produce enough phytase to prevent damage from the phytic acid. She believed that you could divide her patients between people who can produce enough of the enzyme and those that can't. I fell in the category that doesn't produce enough phytase and it was frustrating because she didn't really have any answers to how to increase your phytase enzyme in the gut microflora. I tried probiotics, the lactobacillis for a couple of years in an attempt to produce more phytase enzymes, but my teeth continued to hurt, and eventually I just removed the foods that were high in phytic acid from my diet and that solved the problem."

I see people bang on about phytic acid quite a lot... Don't eat nuts - phytic acid. Don't eat rice - phytic acid. Don't eat regular potatoes - phytic acid.

Wouldn't a simple solution be just to gulp down some phytase with your meal? Or maybe better yet, soak your rice, or whatever in phytase? Something like this...

Why would you want to leave it on overnight and swallow it? I dont think I would do that.

to have better chances of remineralization thanks to the magnesium, calcium and silica added to my saliva...

great idea... is there some phytase supplement without papain? (i think internal papain is very bad for men)

thanks!
