Hey guys,

I have finally found something that was totally helped with all aspects of my life and health problems that I have had over the years. I have spent a little over a year on this site and other sites searching for something that works. It turns out that all my problems was caused by accumulation of heavy metals from various sources including my moms metal fillings, vaccines etc. I tried a number ways of chelation including humifulvate, iodine, MCP and others. They all seemed to help but not turning out to be the magic bullet that I was looking for.

I started researching the protocol of andrew cutler on the yahoo site and on curezone and decided to give it a go. I was only able to last a little over a day on 12.5mg of DMSA every 4 hours because I got the strongest herx reaction that I have ever experienced. I felt like I had the flu on steriods, the worst I have ever felt. I thought at that time that the protocol caused serious harm and damage. One day later, I started feeling more like myself and I was happy the herx was over. A couple more days went by and I started noticing all the symptoms that I once had my whole life, suddenly go away or greatly reduce. The symptoms include anxiety, slight depression, terrible brain fog and inability to think. I now feel the best I have ever felt in my life and it continues to get better.

I am using just DMSA and will eventually use both after like 10 rounds or so just to play it safe.

I got DMSA-Synergy from ebay, laying around somewhere. I'm eager to try it, once I have time to go through the detox.....

Thats really great. Im gonna look more into this for myself. I think everyone interested in their health (or hair) should drop everything, and start fresh. Starting with FULL body cleanses that include all heavy metals and foreign entities. Kidney and Liver cleanses etc.. Not just throw arbitrary supplements at the problems. Its like just dumping a bottle of chlorine into a filthy swimming pool filled with sludge, dirt, debris, dead animals etc.
Then, and only then should you start supplementing and trying to solve your health and hairloss. And you need to get out, work out and exercise FFS. And lastly, you need to have peace in your life. The most important part of all.

But you need supplements for cleanses and detox.......you can also use supplements to lessen toxicity symptoms or to help wit herx......=supplementos bueno!

It's amazing how one can feel on cloud 9 when their immune system is ramped up very high.

So again, the great feeling you have is due to the increased immune system based on my research and experience. Herx is due to uncovering the pathogens as the immune system has finally enough strength to do what it's suppose to do... metals act as a blanket for them.

It's all like peeling an onion. Peeling that first layer is amazing. As time goes on I should mention it does get more and more complex to remove the very bottom ones.

Also, I would ride out that cloud 9 feeling as long as you can before you do another round of chelation. As I would only chelate when you're not feeling on par and looking for better results IME.

Tooyoung- I take apart the capsule and split the powder in half. Then I have extra capsules to but it in.

JDP- you were right on about getting your immunity back. You feel like a little kid again! feels great!

ALA is the most powerful mercury chelating agent available.

It is not necessary to use DMSA or DMPS first.

The idea of using DMSA for 3 months first is due to a cursory
(mis)reading of Amalgam Illness: Diangosis and Treatment, and since I
wrote that I feel qualified to say that the 3 month DMSA requirement is
SOLELY for those having amalgam removed or otherwise having ended their
ongoing exposure within the last 2-3 months. It is not necessary for
autistic children (or for many adults). Most people do it simply
because it is the most conservative position to take and it does often
lead to some early progremss.

There are many reasons to use ALA alone, one being economic - it is
very inexpenesive. Another being that DMPS requires a prescription and
is quite expensive, DMSA is not cheap, and some children do not
tolerate DMSA well.

Use of ALA is chelation. It does not need to be used with another
chelator, though there are sometimes advantages to doing so.

In Amalgam Illness, Cutler explains that if you are chelating after amalgams are removed, you should wait 3 months before using ALA (4 days for DMSA or DMPS). The reason for this is to allow the mercury in the blood to be excreted first. ALA slightly increases the permeability of the blood brain barrier to mercury, and using it right after acute exposure may cause some mercury to be deposited in the brain as the mercury concentrations move toward equilibrium. This equilibrium process is slow and ALA accelerates it.

Does that mean 3 months without chelation? So is ALA safe to use on its own? CS, any opinion on this? Money wise this would probably help me out a lot.

I had a filling removed probably about 9-10 years ago, however my mother has a ton of amalgams and I think she had a lot while I was in the womb. Would DMSA be of benefit?

I've been using ALA (alpha lipoic acid), although usually Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid for 7 years straight. Yes, it's safe.

Yeah I've seen that a few times before CS, I've taken MCP, humifulvate and iodine for a while and not really seen a huge benefit, 1..... in his original post said he didn't see a great deal of benefit until he used the dmsa, although your article has put me off a bit...

I'd go with both, ALA and DMSA. Even though cutler says it's not absolutly necessary, the DMSA is taken even when you already use ALA! The protocol may not be perfect and you could change few things for sure, but it has been proven to be consistent.

Hmm, searching glutathione came up with a jdp thread saying dmsa normalised glutathione levels.

Would that be a reason why 1..... didn't have much reaction to humifulvate but with dmsa he got a reaction?

Yes, it would hinder progress.

I think it's worth mentioning that optimizing levels of vitamin D can dramatically raise glutathione levels.

tooyoung, as you know the UK is notoriously low on Vitamin D and of course so is Canada.

Lipoic acid will increase glutathione levels, although it may help further to take NAC as a good precursor.

There are two new, relatively efficient ways to increase you glutathione level.

A new product by Allergy Research Group called Acetyl-Glutathione or one can use Lypo-Spheric Glutathione.

jdp posted a study where, "Treatment with DMSA for only 3 days normalized glutathione levels for at least 1-2 months in almost all children."

As at the moment I can only afford probably 1, maybe 2 supplements, should I go for the DMSA?

Thanks for the link, their shipping seems good for the UK. I take it I need to get some gelatin caps and put a lower amount of DMSA in each one? Do I take the DMSA with or without food?

Any risks donating blood while doing a DMSA round, should I wait for the rest period inbetween rounds?

Can I take other supplements such as iodine at the same time as DMSA?

Do I need to wake up in the night to give myself a dose?
