Sugars aren't inflammatory. Fruit isn't either.

Sugar/Carb tolerance is dependent on many factors. I would focus on attaining the correct balance of micronutrients, vit-d, magnesium, chromium, vit-c, vit-e and most importantly minimize intake of polyunsaturated fats to help glucose tolerance.

You should have no problem taking in 0-60% of calories in as sugar if you do the above.

I agree with abc in a lot of ways, that sugar tolerance really depends on a lot of other factors going on inside you, but even (actually, especially) fruit sugars all have a similar effect on the immune system, it weakens it considerably for at least five hours after consumption. Starches are the safest.

Abc123, sounds like you've read a few of Ray Peat's articles. If so, are you following his food guideline?

I've actually upped my fruit intake lately with good results. I get about 300 calories a day from fruit. I exercise pretty much every day, and don't have any other carb sources besides vegetables, though.

I think as long as you're keeping it reasonable and are eating whole fruits you should be ok. Your body should tell you when you've had more fruit than you need.

Yes. Don't want to jinx it but so far, very very good results. Less need for sleep, uninterrupted sleep, less inflammatory pain in joints and muscles, extremely stable blood sugar, and boners that could break through a steel wall. Might make a ray peat discussion thread in a couple of weeks if these improvements are for real.

Good to hear someone else is experiencing the same results as me. Most profound improvements for myself have been with joint and muscle pain, speech and erections.

Very good to hear man, gives me even more confidence in it now. How long have you been doing it for? I'm only one week into this...I also read that a lot of people at 180 degree health and danny roddy http://www.dannyroddy.com/ are getting good results too.

What is your macro nutrient breakdown like? I'm probably sitting at 30p/20c/50f.

A typical day looks like:

meal 1: 1egg with cheese and salt fried in coconut oil, glass of oj. Glass of cream. Carrot and vinegar
meal 2: 1egg with cheese and salt fried in coconut oil, glass of oj. Glass of cream.
meal 3: stewed lamb knuckles with vegetables and coconut oil, glass of oj, glass of full fat cream with whey and gelatine
meal 4: glass of oj, glass of full fat cream with whey and gelatine

Almost two months, i had a few threads about it. I visit both those sites as well, there's also a few podcasts under BTR: Hollistic living where Peat talks about various topics - estrogen, sugar, progesterone etc.

I usually have:

1/4 glass oj, 3/4 glass raw milk, gelatin or tbsp of molasses, raw milk and gelatin - coconut oil added to both
2 eggs, poached or fried, lots of butter and sea salt
mango fried in butter or coconut oil with molasses on top
grass fed ground beef with a cup of chicken broth added and sea salt, sweet or yam potatoes
a couple raw carrots randomly throughout the day, away from meals
odd cup of coffee with milk and molasses or honey

I try to always eat some fat and protein with carbs.

After living with my gf for a month I had to succumb to more fruit, I totally agree with the way you guys are combining food types.

I would usually start my days with a smoothie that consisted of coconut oil, some butter, raw eggs, raw cocao powder, and half a banana, and some almond milk (home made). I still don't take well to lots of calories or sugar but this seemed optimal for me.

Most nuts contain high amounts of polyunsaturated fats and other chemicals the plant produces to defend itself against "prey". These chemicals are said to block nutrient absorption once ingested.

Polyunsaturated fats in nuts are a non-issue, but there are certainly good and bad nuts(peanuts for example). Some can't digest them well, that's why they should avoid all nuts and seed and go on SCD...

I agree with pancacke, though I find I react really well to raw sunflower and pumpkin seeds, especially in a smoothie with coconut oil in it.

abc - What kind of cream are you having? What kind of oj, just standard not from concentrate, or are you making your own? An article on Danny Roddy website saying Ray Peat had said some people even do well on pasteurised milk. Been reading a bit about Ray Peat, interesting stuff.

Oj without pulp since the pulp in most orange juice is synthetic and causes issues.

This is where the controversy comes in. Ray peat says polyunsaturated is bad (corn oil), slightly less bad with added vitamin E (nuts) but should still be avoided.

Just store bought full fat cream. I don't drink a whole lot of pasteurized milk but have had no problems on it so far.

The link isn't very descriptive but to be honest most gelatine should be fine unless they have like 20 preservatives in it or something.

Okay, thanks for the help. One final question, why do you personally drink cream instead of milk?
