Dr. Perricone on carbs, inflammation, glycation, ALA
This might be basic, old stuff for some of you, but I thought it was a pretty interesting read nonetheless and I learned a few things. Not directly related to hair per se, but talks about skin health, collagen, inflammation, etc., so I thought it was worth posting.
Anyways here it is: http://pals2u.tripod.com/id24.html

While I agree with much of this article, and many of the ideas of Dr. Perricone, I don't think its helpful to decide the validity of advice by the appearance of the Dr, scientist, athlete, or whatever. Some people are just genetic freaks. Like many people have noted on this site, sometimes there are homeless people with great heads of hair, doesn't mean we should listen to their nutritional advice. Or there may be some vegan with great hair, doesn't mean anything.
A good example is Lamar Odom, NBA star. Guy eats a ridiculous amount of candy everyday and still has a very muscular and athletic body(although, he is bald). If the average person did the same they would be overweight, and look horrible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-3Pm2Z_RDw
I guess my point is we shouldn't decide who gives valid advice by looking at their appearance, which I see all the time on this forum.

"Protein first!
Eat some protein at the start of any meal, and try to avoid eating fruit on an empty stomach, to prevent any rapid rise in blood sugar"
Is this correct? isnt there a thread right now on this forum about "benefites of eating fruits on empty stomatch?
