CS, Brewer's Yeast vs. Nutritional Yeast!
I am finding having to swallow 10-20 brewer's yeast pills a day , about 5 per meal a little annoying. I wish this came in powder form so i can mix it with a drink.
I was looking for powdered brewers yeast when I found this by Now Foods:
http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Nutritional-Yeast-Powder-10-oz-284-g/722?at=0
the amount of nutrients is huge!
I'm understanding they mention that this yeast is clean of candida yeast.. but what about brewer's yeast?
CS, is this a better alternative to the brewer's yeast pills by now foods?
Thanks

Nutritional Yeast Powder is produced from a specially selected strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This yeast is grown on enriched purified cane and beet molasses under carefully controlled conditions. This is a primary grown yeast and is therefore NOT a brewery by-product as is brewer's yeast. This ensures freedom from Candida albicans yeast.
the amount of nutrients is huge!
Thiamine (B1) 640%
Pyridoxine (B6) 480%
Riboflavin (B2) 560%
Vitamin B12 130%
Niacin 280%
Folic Acid 60%
Pantothenic Acid 100%
Selenium 30%
Iron 4%

I've seen him say it you don't want synthetic b vitamins and nutritional yeast gets most of its nutrition from that. The twinlabs you posted looks alright though.

Kombucha may be a good alternative to brewer's yeast http://www.iherb.com/Kombucha-2000-Kombucha-Tea-Extract-1-fl-oz-30-ml/3897?at=0

j87x - Thanks. I am looking for a powder form of something that gives me the same benefit of brewer's yeast.
On Kombucha extract, it says it contains:
Contains immune boosting vitamin B complex, vitamin C, glucuronic acid, a natural detoxifier, other vital acids.
I thought Kombucha was the fermented tea, the actual cultured tea not a tea leaf! hm! scratch
What about Spirulina ?

that blue bonnet is brewers yeast. The nutritional value looks comparable to the one I get locally which you might wanna check(health stores,or organic/health section at grocery) if you wanna save on shipping.

I actually like the unmixed taste of the powder itself, but I usually mix it in juice, oatmeal, soy milk or my smoothies and shakes. I'd agree that it tastes fairly bad mixed into things. 1 spoon in oatmeal and its not bad. Anymore than that and it damages the taste. But it seems like a good supplement. It turns a glass of juice basically into a meal.
