Hi

Does the sugar from e.g. grapes and honey also theoretically cause inflammation in the scalp?

Best,
Lambaugh.

Then how do you get sugar to your body?

Lambaugh,

You don't have to be completely sugar-phobic but I would recommend getting it from fruits since the fiber prevents blood sugar spikes and fruit also contains good nutrients. Even Dr. Mercola's not rabidly anti-sugar anymore when it comes to fruit since a new study demonstrated it's not bad. There's a video on his site with the interview (audio only I think) and he's ok with people eating a few pieces of fruit each day. Lower glycemic fruits like grapefruit are better than higher ones like mangos. Also, nothing wrong with a little dark chocolate either, esp. if you follow CS's regimen and take ALA for blood sugar spikes. Lastly, if you're going to eat sugar it's better to consume it with a full meal.
