Avoiding Jet Lag
Hi guys,
I suffer this "syndrom" constantly, since i cross the Atlantic 9 times per month. I´ve been using l-trytophan, but i´m not so happy with it. I also read in a post around here that 5htp is bad for hair. What about melatonin? is it safe? Any recommendations? Good supps for lack of sleep?

Re: Avoiding Jet Lag
kirtanyogi - Melatonin is good, but especially good for jet lag prevention is NADH. NADH is a source of ATP, which is lost during the this sort of travel. Another thing that works is chewable Ribose tablets.

Re: Avoiding Jet Lag
Hi CS, you are really something else... I don´t want to abuse, but, in your opinion how should i take the NADH? During travelling or everyday? What dosage?I´ve seen there are at least two, 5 and 20 mg Will it interfere with the regimen? (i´m following yours except for the chasteberry) what about D-Ribose? I guess this one is during flights and days before and after... and, how many lives have you lived to get to know all of this? Thanks for sharing your knowledge, you are a great inspiration!

Sorry for my ignorance... Why is ATP lost during travelling?

Re: Avoiding Jet Lag
kirtanyogi - Thanks for your comments! As a medical "insider" I have observed over the years that standard medicine seems to work as a killing machine for profit. I only became interested to try and doing something about my hair loss, but along the way realized the hair is related to the entire body. There's plenty of information that does not reach the mainstream for whatever reason. Even alternative medicine is greedy, just doesn't kill very often.
Anyway, here's a quick story on D-Ribose.
I was stuck at the airport once for some 24-hours (missed my flight). Fortunately I had some chewable D-Ribose on hand and I took one every few hours. When I finally arrived at my destination with zero sleep, I felt as if I didn't need any sleep. When you sleep, the body is charging up its "internal capacitor" or rather it is generating ATP which is energy itself. Lack of sleep or a sound sleep will leave the body deprived of sufficient ATP. The jet lag feeling is a lack of ATP energy produced.

If you decide to go with NADH (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide), look for sublingual form. The study used for jet lag was 20 mg, however it will probably work just as well at 5 milligrams. Try taking it sometime before you expect to feel the effects of jet lag. It isn't necessary to take it everyday, perhaps just the day before, and on the day of jet lag.

Re: Avoiding Jet Lag
I´m very happy with the results of combining D-Ribbose for keeping awake, melatonin for deep sleep and NADH for jet lag days. Now everything is easier in my job. Thanks so much CS!
