Espiro or BCP??
Immorthal,I would like to know wich one is safer,if I have to choose one...
My skin and hair it´s terribly oily,I can´t stand it anymore,I have to take one of this too,or propecia.
Wich one has less side effects?

Sissi--
How long have you been taking the PM for? Maybe give it a couple months to help reduce oiliness.

Nid,I really can´t stand my breasts, they are bigger and hurting me ,more than ever a BCP did....Even with half a pill for day and my skin is still oily and oily...I´ve been using PM for 20 days.

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - If you had to choose between finasteride and Birth control pills, the choice would be finasteride. BCP is absolute evil, the side effects include premature death--not worth it.
Of course I agree with nidhogge and would try taking gradual dosages of PM Kudzu until your body adapts to it.

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - My Portuguese isn't too good, is Espiro, the same thing as Spirolactone?
And if so, are you intending to use this topically or internally?
Have you ever had your aldosterone levels checked?

Re: Espiro or BCP??
Yes,Spirolactone! And I was thinking in use it internally,I had use it before but just for a few months...Is it saffer than Propecia?
Not aldosterone,only 4-androstenodione,dehidroepiandrosterone sulfate,testosterone,prolactine,etc..
But why?

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - Spirolactone could work, however it does have side-effects and one of them is breast soreness. Assuming that you have elevated aldosterone or 4-aldosterone levels, it would probably work for you.
Spirolactone could be used topically also, but it smells terrible.

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - I'm not sure which is worse in the long run. But when taking Spirolactone, you'll want to make sure that your potassium levels do not get too high, which could lead to kidney and heart problems. Also your ability to acclimate to heat can become unstable. So if it's really hot outside, you would be more vulnerable to suffering from heat stroke. Also it may lower your folic acid levels and possibly raise your homocysteine levels.
Both drugs should never be used if you're pregnant of course. The concern with finasteride (Propecia) is anxiety, depression and long term advancement of neurodegeneration.

I was here thinking...When I was on Evening Primrose Oil I lost many hair on my legs...Because it might decrease DHT isn´t it? But I´ve nottice my hair became worst, really, much more thin and weak...So my question is...Is the Propecia mechanism of action the same as EPO???
And what´s the mechanism of Espironolactone???
Immorthal,please...

You haven't been on PM long enough to have it work its magic. If this can potentially cure your problem in 3 months for just a little bit of breast pain, then why not stick with it? Better than involving yourself with these other poisons that have side-effects of death.

Also, the pain can be an indication of it working for you! No pain, no gain.

Many cures cause painful side-effects before they work, so making a blanket statement such as that isn't fair. Perhaps your hormonal profile is so out of order that due to the intensity of PM's miroestrol content making changes to set things right in your body, you keep getting these pains. Oiliness is an internal process that may take months to change. Under 3 weeks is not a good gauge of anything in terms of effectiveness, unless you're explicitly told that it will work in that amount of time by the provider of the drug or herb.

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - EPO inhibits DHT and bypass arachadonic acid release.
Spironolactone inhibits the effect of aldosterone in receptors, it also blocks the effects of DHT on receptors and it increases potassium, since it slows its normal excretion. It's also a mild diuretic.

Re: Espiro or BCP??
sissi - I know you're interested in cutting out the "grease" or an oily scalp. The enzyme 5-alpha reductase type I which responsible for the sebacious glands, however Finasteride (Propecia) is an irreversible 5-alpha reductase type II inhibitor, which means in this case it blocks mostly type II 5-AR and not very much of type I.
This means it might help your hair, but not so much your oily scalp.
Did you ever try that Lithium/DMSO combo shampoo?
