CausticSymmetry about calcium supplement
I just saw on the news here that researchers found out calcium tablets supplements increase chance of clot in heart by 30% over a 5 year period in women. What is your take on postmeopause, should they supplement calcium with vitamin D, K and magnesium, or just entirely skip calcium in supp form? Maybe the researchers would have seen another results with these additional supplements also.

cpio - Yes, this is correct, plenty of research exists now that women should not be taking calcium supplements.
Of course "every women knows" to take them, because it is accepted medical dogma.
Even worse is that millions of women are now taking bisphosphonate drugs, which destroy osteoclasts which permit proper bone remodeling (they tear down old bone, to replace it with new bone). So while their bone density appears better on a DEXA can, their bones are actually more fragile than before.
Besides dental and necrosis of the jawbone risks, they increase cancer risk at the same time. The two Daily Topic's below may answer the other questions.

Re: CausticSymmetry about calcium supplement
Funny thing:
I started taking this:
http://www.iherb.com/Mt-Capra-Capra-Mineral-Whey-Goat-Milk-Whey-12-7-oz-360-g/3103?at=0
and this:
http://www.iherb.com/Mt-Capra-Caprotein-Premium-Goat-Milk-Protein-Vanilla-Flavor-460-g/7068?at=0
And noticed a bunch of white spots forming under my nails, which I always had, then got rid of with mag oil. In any case, I dropped the former which is heavy handed on the calcium. but I am somewhat confused about calcium intake in general.

Re: CausticSymmetry about calcium supplement
Calcium intake creates an interesting conundrum truly based on diet and intestinal flora. If our diets are alkaline then we do not need to pull calcium in order to buffer our PH levels. That is why there is so much calcium loss and why the RDA is so high. Then there is the unsettling fact that absorption might be an issue. In that case pro-biotics and digestive enzymes make all the different.
If you are worried about bones and teeth then you should look into magnesium oil, which is just as important as calcium.

Only calcium taken in isolation is a problem. Enough magnesium and vitamin K will keep it in check.
