Topicals - Immortal
Dear ImmortalHair,
Can You help me with the topicals issue ?
Should I use the Lithium tabs as mentioned on Your site ?
How should I use The magnesium oil ? Do You use it also ?
any benefits to use folligen with these two ?
What about emu oil ?
Please help me to choose the right topicals.
Thanks

Re: Topicals - Immortal
Shane4 - The Lithium/DMSO topical is good if you have an oily scalp.
If you have fibrosis or scarring alopecia, then Magnesium oil rubbed in the scalp during a shower is recommended. This will help diffuse the calcium amongst other actions.
Emu oil in my experience and also other's feedback is that it is not that impressive. Probably not worth your time.
Folligen, I have never used, but from what I have gathered isn't worth the price. If anyone thinks differently, please mention it.

Nioxin--
I only recommend Nioxin's Scalp Renew, and not their shampoos. Their shampoos do nothing to help hairloss.
Nizoral--
Used it for months, and I like the Lithium/DMSO mix substantially better.

Nizoral is not a bad shampoo when you are trying to find something to work. In the long run it is a bad option as the chemicals loaded in it are toxic to your scalp potentially causing the skin to thin. A thick dermis layer is important for blood flow and hair growth. I agree with nid that the DMSO/lithium mixture is way better, plus I get to add a couple of my own ingredients to it as well.
Nizoral is known to kill fungus although doctors still suspect it has anti-DHT properties, which I believe to be false. The majority of doctors do not believe fungus can aggravate hair loss.

I thought it was the opposite, because with a thin scalp layer the hair pump out more easily...That´s because Nid and others use a dermabrasion on the scalp (Scalprenew),isn´t it??

Not quite the same thing. The scalp renew is just for removing the very first layer of skin and all the junky and dead cells that are clogging up follicles.

But if you remove the frst skin layer, the skin turns more thin,I think it´s obvious...
So what´s best?A thin or a thick dermis layer???

Re: Topicals - Immortal
I will dig up the data. What I do remember from the info is that the thinner the layer of skin the more signs of degradation and aging. Thinning skin also loses its fatty layer and blood vessels. A key point to remember is that hair cells start out as skin cells so the healthier and stronger our skin is so should be our hair. The scalp peels temporarily thin the dermis layer removing fibrosis and follicle clogging contaminants. As long as your body is healthy and can continually rebuild that layer then scalp peels are definitely an option.

Re: Topicals - Immortal
I second Sublime--we're not permanently removing the first layer, it gets rebuilt. We're just trying to remove fibrosis and stuff that may be clogging the follicles. Think of it like a snake shedding skin.
