Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
Erm, sorry I know this has probably come up before, but like, it occurred to me that if I'm going to keep my hair hanging on while I look further into my thyroid etc, I need to also get some amazing topicals going that I'm really confident in.
I was thinking of your choice of non-SLS shampoo CS (I have it in the other room already, it seems like good stuff!), and start by somehow mixing ketoconazole into it (I want to ditch the Nizoral, but I still like the idea of the anti-inflamm, anti-fungal and antiandrogen properties of keto), and maybe also go the lithium and DMSO route. I feel like the main thing they need is freedom from inflammation/androgens, and a burst of energy and/or nutrients, which should keep them pumped and alive until I can get to work tackling the problem!
I'm not sure if this mix would be enough to achieve this goal, but this is the first time I've seriously thought about topicals, so fingers crossed I can put together something I really have some faith in!
Would love some opinions and help
Hoppi!

Oh, as far as mixing in Keto, how could I do this do you know? The guys on somewhere were saying about dissolving tablets of keto in something first?
Cheers

Re: Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
Hmm, it seems like my best bet would be PPG (Propylene Glycol) or more likely glycerin. I wonder if the amount of glycerin in this shampoo already (the same one as on the IH topicals page) would be enough to dissolve the crushed keto tablets and allow it to work as a topical... does it work like that for the lithium?
And man can you imagine how cool a topical of AO Ginseng Biotin shampoo, keto, lithium and DMSO could be? It's attacking hair loss at pretty much every point in the chain! hehe
Sorry, I know keto isn't viewed so great on here, it's just people talk about it SO much, and I guess I'm just taking advice from everyone at the moment and keeping a nice open mind! If keto really is bad news I will drop it though, I still don't know much about it!

Sorry, bump again, could I maybe just crush a precise amount of these up fine and add them to my normal non-sls shampoo? Maybe the glycerin in it will be sufficient to dissolve them.... this is SO new to me lol

Re: Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
For the record I just went for Regenepure in the end hehe
Re: Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
I use Regenepure myself and switched from Nizoral because it does not contain SLS. Hoppi, do you use the DR first and then the NT?
Re: Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
To be honest I thought I would just save money and time and things are just use the DR, I mean doesn't it have most of the key ingredients in it anyway?
Re: Mixing ketoconazole into a non-SLS shampoo?
Yep i agree. It is a decent shampoo from what I read on the list of ingredients. Also not containing SLS IMo is a good thing. Good luck in your fight brotha!
