Severe Scalp Itching
Several days ago I began taking zinc orally and DMSO/Lithium Orotate topically in a shampoo as indicated by CS. FYI I purchased both from the sources indicated on the regimen page.
I used the shampoo two days in a row and by then I had the worst itch imaginable. I felt like my scalp was on fire. It lasted for two days after I stopped using the shampoo. And only after I used emu oil at night before sleeping.
I've taken zinc orally before and never had any reaction to it. Could it have been the DMSO or Lithium Orotate? If it was the DMSO, can I still use the Lithium Orotate in a shampoo or should I put both aside forever?

Re: Severe Scalp Itching
CS was saying I believe that DMSO can cause a reaction like that in about 13% of people (I am only parroting this, but this is how I remember it).
I think you can switch down to a weaker concentration like 60-70%, see if it still does it? Other than that maybe finding an alternative topical is in order!

Re: Severe Scalp Itching
Lithium causes inflammation in 13% of subjects tested (not the DMSO).

Re: Severe Scalp Itching
Thank you CS. Would the addition of DMSO to a shampoo alone be of any benefit? As for the Lithium, I recall reading that using it internally would be of some benefit. Correct? If so was dosage would you recommend?

I did actually try to hunt back through the forum history to see the post where you said that, but I didn't manage it so tried to see how well I remembered it!
Oh well, I tried!
