Multi-Vitamin / Mineral Empty Multi-Vitamin / Mineral

I am interested on getting opinions on this Multi-Vitamin/Mineral:

It seems like a less expensive yet comparable alternative to IH's recommendations.

IH - which MV do you currently take? Aren't whole food MVs superior? If so, why do you recommend Longevital?

scottyc33 - Alive Whole Food Energizer is not really a whole food vitamin.

It does appear that way, however the secret is revealed in the description:

# Whole Food Energizer
# With Vitamins-Minerals-Fruits-Vegetables-Green Foods- Mushrooms

I recommend Longevital as one of many potential multi's to use, since it has a few of the active forms of B-vitamins and has a very broad selection of items and meaningful amounts of important minerals. It's not perfect, but then I haven't really found anything perfect.

I do prefer the non-isolate vitamins. I generally rotate multi's just to get a variety. Lately I've been using Garden of Life, Vitamin Code.

I agree with IH--You're basically looking at marketing, nothing else.

This one may not look great on paper, but unlike most vitamins, you will likely perceive a notable difference from using it, just like using a potent antioxidant like EC.

That said, it caused insomnia for me which I am prone to. The Garden of Life one did as well, but for more obvious reasons: Ginko. As for New Chapter multis, I could never perceive any difference when using them. All said, I probably am approaching the multi angle incorrectly; I guess it is more like insurance. Currently, i do not use a multi.

Any other less expensive multivitamin recommendations? From Swansons or iHerb, or anywhere else?

To get a good multi I really think that you have to dish out the cash. The cheap stuff tends to be crap.

I agree with half empty, the cheaper vitamins are ineffective. I use a powdered form of a multi vitamin so it absorbs better then a pill. It comes without iron, but you can order one with iron as well.. here is the link http://www.marketamerica.com/flowerboy/index.cfm?action=shopping.wpGoShopProducts&skuID=13051 I pay 21.50 which is not that bad, and it has great reviews and works for me.

New Chapter's is about $50 for 2 months, except it's whole food.
