Good topical for women?
My mom has thinning hair, and I'm wondering what I should suggest she use as a topical. She has already eliminated gluten and takes supplements. She doesn't want anymore pills if possible. She recently had her parathyroid gland removed because it was overactive and contributing to her osteoporosis, and started T3 for low thyroid. I suspect the increase in thinning (balding patches) may be due to the recent addition of the T3.

jharsh80 - Removal for the parathyroid gland causes hair loss. Also T3 can potentially cause hair loss as well.
Since the parathyroid gland regulates both calcium and phosphorus, the absence of this will create an imbalance; namely too much phosphorus and too little calcium.
Assuming she's taking supplements, what is she taking?
In any event, she'll need to take calcium, vitamin D and magnesium. She would likely benefit from taking chasteberry as well.

Re: Good topical for women?
CS,
She does take Jarrow's Bone-up which has D, K, calcium, mag...as well as 5,000iu d3, and 400mg mag citrate/day.
She is doing really well from the supplement and diet angle it seems. That is why I am asking about the most practical topical. I doubt she will go with anything experimental or home brewed. I almost think it may have to be something commercial like revivogen or something.
Interesting about the Vitex-agnus. Is there a connection between her condition and prolactin? Would you mind elaborating on that one?
Thanks
