Alcohol and supplements
CS,
i know you have mentioned it before but just to be sure.I occasionaly have some beer or wine with my meal ,does that hinder the proper absorption of supplements i.e those taken before and after food?
I've read that no caffeine or alcohol should be consumed an hour before and after taking supplements otherwise they are rendered inactive.
Is it true?
I remember you saying that only Mg is affected negatively?

Re: Alcohol and supplements

edony - I'm pretty sure that information is inaccurate. However, milk seems to hinder some nutrient absorption at least what I have come across is polyphenol absorption, such as from green or black tea.

Re: Alcohol and supplements
So i can regularly have my supplements prior to drinking alcohol or my morning coffee?
I remember you mentioning that Mg absorption though is hindered by alcohol consumption, is that right?
Another question is whether Mg should be taken away from a a meal as it counteracts stomach acid and digestion?

Stomach acid is essential for the absorption of minerals (for example Magnesium Oxide). The exception is chelated minerals, like Magnesium Glycinate, which are absorbed better and don't need stomach acid.
Candida can also hinder Magnesium utilization. And magnesium could also make candida grow exponentially...!
I take Mag. Glycinate only with antifungals... as recommended by George Eby. I don't agree 100% on everything he believes but this point in particular might be important.
What's your position on Candida and Magnesium Caustic?
Thanks.

Re: Alcohol and supplements
will my copious consumption of aloe vera juice neutralize mycotoxins? I love to drink on a night out but I want to kill them flat! hehe
Hmm.. I wonder if aloe does it! O.O

Re: Alcohol and supplements
Right! Just added garlic to my regimen! I think that, aloe, and plenty of water should really help with seeing off those mycotoxins! hehe
Also I did want a good systemic antifungal, so there it is! ^_^

Re: Alcohol and supplements
i've been putting my iodine in my morning coffee for months and it's definitely working. People have commented that i have fewer gray hairs. Also been putting modified citrus pectin in the last few weeks, and i've been getting detox symptoms pretty hardcore.
