Skin yeast infection

I have a friend that has been going through a long bout of a yeast infection on the skin. Its in and around his butt and goes up to his belt line. He has taken may diff scripts from the doc with some relief but never goes away and ends up coming back. I never knew this could become a serious issue but hes been battling it for over 2 months now. Anyone with experience on this would be appreciated.
