Betaine HCL side effects
Hello CS and LittleFighter, are there any side effects or detox symptoms associated with supplementing betaine hcl? I just started taking it 4 days ago with 1-2 caps per meal but have been experiencing some diarrhea. I was wondering if this is unusual or whether it might be a detox effect? Any information would be helpful. Thank you!
Re: Betaine HCL side effects
Yes, you can expect detox reactions that includes possibility of diarrhea. Activated charcoal, a few tea spoons 1-2h appart of the meal should normalise the effect, and dont forget to restore beneficial bioflora by eating fermented foods.

I think yes, it can be; but can also be other gut infections. If you speculate you are high in h. pylori - symptoms as hard to digest proteins/ skin problems; you are closer to finding that out. IME, sprouting broccolli and eating it daily will help with the issue of h.pylori infection. If not going medical/diagnostic route, experimentation is the only key.

Re: Betaine HCL side effects
Thanks for your help and reassurance. Haven't had a diagnosis but do speculate gut issues along with those symptoms and my brother who is autistic also has similar problems with maldigestion. I think I'll continue betaine hcl and will definitely look into broccoli sprouts as you mentioned. Considering probiotics as well.

Well humans cant digest proteins anyway.Quoting here Robert Morse and his 50 year experience.
