shortness / interruption of breath.

Hi All,

I've talked to a friend of mine, who is experiencing shortness / interruption of breath for a few seconds..and this is happening very randomly but the frequency is about once per month? since i am not sure what this can be, maybe you guys know? he drinks coffee a few times per day if that makes any difference.

He does annual check ups and everything seems fine, as well as taking supplements etc, i've asked if he feels pain etc, but he says he doesn't feel anything aside as someone closed his breathing for 2 secs.

What can this be? heart issue, lung spasms, ...? would be nice to know what can fix this as well

Don't know what it is, I had this symptom when I had anxiety all day or an attack. Any follow ups to what it could be?

So far they are thinking, its anxiety, stress, coffee..

I remember a flatmate who never drinks coffee had kind of a "rapid breathing" anxiety, higher pulse rate occurrence when he did have a cup..... but it was more like "Wake UP your life sucks get out your room and go outside" since he never did anything/no job etc haha.

Shortness of breath is something I practice in meditation to breathless. Buteyko method can help

I remember when my anxiety had me believe I had lung cancer 3 years ago when I was chains smoking for 2 years. Had tightness of chest and pain and shortness of breath for 4 months straight! It finally clicked when I realized that when I woke up I was breathing normal and I was breathing normal in my sleep (lucid dreamer) "Anxiety" or what ever you want to call it has over 100 physical symptoms I think people really underestimate it
