S Equol in stinky tofu

It seems that the fermenting process in stinky tofu creates S-Equol:

Now I remember a few years ago everyone on the natural boards was talking as if equol was the holy grail.

Not sure about that but I think it may be time for me to stink up some tofu!

I tried tempeh (fermented soy) until one year back, it did nothing to my hair (maybe even more shedding), i stoped after 1 year. It totally destroyed my libido, and made me some brain fog, impossible to focus etc

Perhaps you are not an equol producer?
From my understanding there is something in the fermentation of stinky tofu that is similar to the process of equol production in the gut so you don't have to be a equol producer.

everyone can become an equol Producer, its just take time if you not. Im vegetarian, eat seaweed at same time, took probiotic etc.. So in one year im sure i was equol Producer and im sure its the reason why i got such side

Soy products can suppress thyroid function (like Shinobi's symptoms).  Be careful with soy.  I avoid it like the plague.
