stuffy head sore throat remedies?

Hey guys,

I've been battling a cold here that just seems to not want to go away. I thought I beat it and it came back Friday night.

My sinuses are blocked (even my ears) and I have a pretty chronic sore throat unless I'm drinking liquids which makes it disappear. I seem to be drying out very quickly.

I don't want to go on anti-biotics -- I don't have strep.

Just wondering if there are any cures out there you guys have used successfully for this type of thing.

Mega doses of "C", Zinc, and Vitamin "D". Take some cayene with every Meal...

If I get flu like symptoms - I am upto 3-4g vit "C", 50mg Zinc 2 times a day, and upto 5K iu Vitmain "D" through the day with a cayene pepper every meal.

So you did the Strep test and it came back negative?

With the flu or cold, I take a heap of cayenne pepper during the day, a heap of Garlic, heap of vitamin C, vitamin D, echinacea, golden seal, activated charcoal, lugols iodine and fast on water or vegetable broths. Also doing some sort of very light exericse i find benefical, plus using a infrared sauna massively speeds up recovery for me.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I didn't officially do a strep test, but my wife doesn't see any white spots in my throat and I've had strep before and it's different sensation than this.

This is more of a post nasal drip that seems to be quick drying right in the back of my throat. When I drinl, gargle and rinse and even take water in through my nose, the soreness goes away until my throat dries out again.

I did go to the gym today and worked up a sweat and that seems to have helped a bit.

I'm going to up my C. zinc and cayenne intakes. I'm already at 5000 IU of D3 a day so I'm not sure I should add to that.

I just want to kick this. It's the first time I've really had symptoms like this for more than a day or two since I've been using the regimen.

My 6 year old went to the doc, quick strep test came back -ve, the docs still sent the swab to the external lab. No fever after the 1st day, the girl was going to school for 3-4 days when the call from Nurse came confirming a strep. Not saying you have it, just a different experience...
