Estrogen-Manual Method Connection
Estrogen was found to be elevated in those with pattern baldness,[22] and probably accounts for some of the pathological changes in the scalp of those with pattern baldness. For instance, it was found that the tissues surrounding the hair follicles in balding men gradually lost their capillaries until the skin appeared to be almost deprived of blood vessels.[23] Estrogen tends to cause blood vessels to leak and to become hardened with calcium. If you recall, calcification tends to begin in the mitochondria.
Another study found that tissue in the scalp was relatively hypoxic (i.e., oxygen deficient),[24] which could be related to estrogen's ability to promote Otto Warburg's cancer metabolism (i.e., aerobic glycolysis).[25] Both of these changes support Dr. Frederick Hoelzel's heretical "Ivory Dome" theory of baldness.[26]

...manual methods improve blood flow, probably capillary growth and probably higher oxygenation?

Nice post, hence why MSM, Magnesium, K2, D3 work for hair loss.

Carbon dioxide seems to be rate-limiting factor in tissue oxygenation.

Danny how do you consume more carbon dioxide or get more of it in your blood?

By stimulating cellular respiration, thyroid hormone is probably the largest factor in the generation of carbon dioxide.

Sometimes, but not always.
If your diet is inadequate (e.g., copper, magnesium, zinc, etc.) increasing the metabolic rate with a thyroid supplement may make things worse.
