Re: New Product released today. Snake oil???
how can we have an opinion when its just been released and not even the reviewer has tried it(by his own admission) lol thats funny.
it it really did that, and they could prove it, it would be the holy grail, and they would be billionaires. however as with all new products, there is a very slim possibility that it IS the holy grail, it will happen sooner or later. so try it if u want and report back. Out of the thousands of products released for hair regrowth, how many are actually successful?
however if its marketed at women, and the claims are for women, then thats more believeable. someone without mpb, will grow new hairs easy.
its buyer beware. u have to understand every company says theire product is best , and their products grow hair. never seems to happen though does it.

and now the sales pitch http://irestorethinhair.com/clinical_trial.htm
The peptide looks promising (Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3), will do some research!
---------
Studies have shown that these two ingredients stimulates hair growth with higher activity than the hair growth agent Minoxidil.
Key Ingredients:
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3: hair growth stimulant/improves hair anchoring
CloverFlower Extract: anti-hair loss agent
Anagen to Telogen ratio improved by 79% after 4 months of treatment.

Improves the growth of human hair follicles by 38% after 8 days of treatment.

Stimulates hair growth with higher activity than hair growth agent Minoxidil

Clinically proven to address alopecia. An innovative technology for hair regrowth and reducing hair loss.

Targeting The Causes of Hair Loss
Efficacy: Inflammation Reduction
il-1a mimics the inflammation process in human fibroblasts and induces IL-8, a pro-inflammatory cytokine.
Helps decrease pro-inflammatory cytokines with synergistic action.
chart holder
Efficacy: DHT Modulation via 5-a-Reductase Activity
DHT is formed by the action of 5-a-reductase on testosterone DHT causes Hair Loss by Shortening the growth cycle, producing progressively shorter and finer hair. This is the study of the capacity of Biochanin A to inhibit the 5-a reductase activity in comparision with a well known 5-a reductase inhibitor EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate a potent antioxidant found in tea).

Efficacy: ECM Renewal and Anchoring Improvement
Healthy dermal papilla will produce good ECM proteins such as collagen type III and anchoring fibers such as laminin and collagen VII which will favor a good hair anchoring in the bulb surrounding tissue. If improper ECM renewal, hair will eventually lack vigor and will thin. Cycle after Cycle, the follicles becomes smaller and finally, miniaturized and fall.
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 stimulates collagen production for better ECM integrity leading to a better anchoring.

Quantification of laminin, type iii collagen synthesis induced by Acetyl tetrapeptide-3
on fibroblasts. It has been demonstrated that molecules which have an activity on these ECM proteins stimulation, also increase hair follicle size and improve hair anchoring.
chart holderchart holder
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 stimulates dermal papilla extra-cellular matrix proteins, and thus has a direct effect on structures surrounding hair follicles.
Collagen VII is a major constituent of the anchoring fibrils and is located in the basement membrane (DEJ) around the papilla. In this experiment, corticoids are used to induce a decrease in the hair papilla cells growth and ECM.

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 provides a repairing effect at the dermal-epidermal junction level, helping hair anchoring.

http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/topical/palmitoyl-oligopeptide-palmitoyl-tetrapeptide-7-matrixyl-3000.html
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (formely known as Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3) consists of a short chain of four amino acids (a.k.a. GQPR peptide or glycine-glutamine-proline-arginine) connected to palmitic acid. Palmitic acid is a fatty acid added to improve the peptide's oil solubility and thus skin penetration.

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 is product obtained by the acetylation of Tetrapeptide-3

Thoughts?
Found it for $42 bucks on amazon. Good reviews. I will give it a shot.

Re: New Product released today. Snake oil???
Has anyone heard of Capixyl? It was released in 2011 and seems to have Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 in it. Quite a few products seems to include it. Funny I've never heard of it before. There doesn't seem to be much buzz around it on the internet either.
