About to start Iodine treatment ... how do I do that?
Some of you know my story - I'm currently suffering from Crohns disease and hair loss / thinning that I believe has a lot to do with my Crohns. I've been doing a lot of reading over the past few weeks and have come to the conclusion that I may also be suffering from hypothyroidism, as that appears to be a common link with other crohns patients.
I'm also the kind of crohns patient that experiences constipation instead of diarrea, which could actually be a symptom of hypothyroidism. My hair is weak, brittle, breaks in half instead of falling right out. I do not have a lot of acne but my skin has multiple small rashes and is very dry in certain spots. My scalp is very itchy a long the hairline, and I can often pick scales off of the top of my scalp.
My current regimen after many addition / subtractions include
Nizoral 2-3x a week
Ulcetrol 2x per day
Pentasa (Crohns)1000mg 4x per day
Digest Gold (digestion enzyme) with food
E Cava 2x per day
5000IU Vitamin D once per day
1500 Vitamin C per day
Biotin 5000 mcg 1x per day
decalcify 2x per day
225 mg Ashwaganda 1x per day
I used to take more supplements, but My constipation got severe so I had to cut it down.
The question is - how do I start Iodine supplementation? There is a lot of good info on this site about that topic, but no real consensus on how to start the right way. I see threads on salt loading, but I think that is only if you have a bad reaction to it? I understand selenium is also important. Does the time of day matter? starting dose? empty stomach? is there a bad reaction to any of my other supps? I am a little fearful of Iodine, but I want to feel better. It's all I want.
I purchased 60ml of lugols 2% Iodine solution.
Thank you.

Do you have any dental amalgams? Have you tried heavy metal detox? Iodine alone is not enough for chelation, it helps, but your body still has to do most of the work. You need a true chelator like humifulvate.

I have not tried a heavy metal detox, but it was on my list of things to try if other things don't work.
I also do have 4 metal fillings I had put in when I was 16. That was 8 or so years ago, so I cannot say for sure what material was used.

You must find out if those metal fillings were made of mercury or not. Heavy metals/toxins are huge in MPB.

you can take humifulvate even if you have fillings
